Coming up this weekend…exclusive video stuff!

Aye ya'll!

Just letting you know briefly that very soon I'll be publishing the first episode of my new miniseries, Short Studio Sessions.
In those sessions, I'll go thru things relating to making songs I've been working on recently: song structures, mixing tips, as well some interesting check-out-worthy plugins I want to show you.

The first episode features a new, unreleased house tune.

So, stick around, for some exclusive goodies are around the corner!

Also, feel free to mention topics you'd like me to cover: I always want to try and take into consideration your ideas and questions relating to making music, mixing etc.

See you soon…stick around, as goodies are coming soon! 🎥
Hope everyone's had a good week so far!

I don't use it heavily actually; I only have it on on the master, as it creates this vibe of some added girth that I like. One can use it to roast sounds etc and add some nice kind of "analog" dirt when desired. Also check the free tape emu by https://chowdsp.com (was mentioned on my latest free plugins post) for some great tweakability and options for that analog roasting.

A deep video into the virtual tape machine by slate would be very cool! Especially if you use it also on the mixing side like kick bass bus or hi hats bus. Also mixing template!

interesting !

Yeah, a bit! When mixing house, I sometimes use it to shorten kicks. I've used its noise module, too, to give some life to muffled kicks as well. The distortion can be spicy, too!

Hola Fanu , Do u use Shaperbox ?

Looking forward!

I think I might just do a session like that and do a video of it. The only challenge is that when doing it all unrehearsed, it might come out as a pretty shitty song, haha…but maybe for the sake of demoing the technique, it'd be ok. I also have another, really weird way of making music that I used to do especially when I was younger, and I want to make a video of that, too…it's really odd but makes you nail some pretty nice *fitting* sounds that go nicely together into a song.

Song structure and arrangement are the things I'm struggling with big time. I remember your advice about creating a busy loop and then unrolling the song from that, but it would be cool to see how you do it in practice
