Let me know about YOU (+some other stuff, updates etc)
Added 2021-04-25 18:54:47 +0000 UTCOi friends!
I'd love to hear about YOU.
Let me know how you are doing musically, what type of music stuff you make (feel free to post links), what your musical aspirations are like, what's the biggest challenge for you in music, etc…make yourself known here!
I'm trying to pick my next video from a long list of topics…there's sure something to do, so just wait!
This weekend, I was actually demoing the Renoise tracker and ended up buying it and doing some stuff and I really liked it, as I did start with tracker software in 1992 and kept rocking with them for some years.
I thought I might actually do a first impressions type video of it: what I like about it, what I think it's good for, etc.
Will soon also want to do another song dissection video, like I did with my Baretta tune. Any wishes for a tune of mine, from the past few years?
BTW, I added the option of me mastering one song of yours per month to the Producer Tier 2.
Anyways, hope you're all good – just wanted to holler quickly at ya'll and say thanks for the support; I've now been doing this for nearly a year and can't say I regret it!
Been having some nice one-to-one sessions with some of you, critiquing some of your work etc., having some nice talks about music, hearing your music etc…I love it!
So, thank you…hitting you with more new content soon!

Hi! I've started out 20+ years ago with trackers ... I have been creating a mainly downtempo/triphop stuff and kept telling myself that even though I am really into deep and dark drum&bass I cannot really produce it. But this year I really made a commitment and I want to advance my production skills. My latest attempt at proper dnb: https://soundcloud.com/hologroove/basser-4-20210429-2/s-I2WgdY76Kue My older hiphop/downtempo stuff: http://luciddrums.bandcamp.com/ I think I do an awful lot of clashing midrange then try to cover it up by overuse ofreverb and then call it deep atmsphere. :) I already learned a lot from the mixing tips in this Patreon so keep them coming. :) My longer term plan is to arrive at some decent work ethic so I create on a regular basis and start using your mix feedback service.

2021-05-01 19:27:25 +0000 UTCIm loving finding breaks in new releases, sampling and running through early 90s mackie desk at the min. Still ways to go before sharing though. Generally ok in making the bare bones, i.e. breaks and bass. Some tips on filling tunes out fould be great, like sample selection and processing for: atmos, really long reverbs, random noises, subtle variations, background vibes all that stuff that adds flava and turns a fat beat in to a propper 'track'.

2021-04-30 08:38:00 +0000 UTCHey! I like all kinds of dance music. I'm really interested in using breakbeats, especially finding new ones that haven't been used before. Sometimes the break can be quite weak sounding and I wonder if there's any tips or advice on how to make them sound 'better'?

2021-04-26 06:16:30 +0000 UTCBeen living in Renoise for a couple of years now - its definitely my favourite way of making music. Kinda feels like I'm running a marathon but I'm slowly getting closer that sound I'm seeking. Current trajectory (I hope) is towards the intersection of autonomic/slowfast/ambient jungle. My biggest challenge is committing to a combination of sounds and seeing it through into a finished track. But if I ever do, I very much do hope to deliver on the bittersweet breaks thing - soul pride ft some very sad synthesisers, that kind of sound. PS - Modern Conveniences masters sounding great!

2021-04-25 20:12:30 +0000 UTCI'm all over the place musically. Playing bass in a latin inspired multi-genre band Messtizaje (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwNFKb5rHxr3HWv-iBuOLig) Making ambient-experimental-whatever-the-hell as Notum (https://notum.bandcamp.com/, you mastered the album, thanks again!). This is my main focus nowadays. Working on the next album, which I actually plan to send out to bigger labels this time. The progress is really slow though. I have finished roughly a third of it, but still don't know exactly which direction I wanna take it. Stylistic freedom comes with a price lol. Actually considering hiring people to play/sing a few parts, but don't know any platforms for it. Any recommendations besides Fiverr? Dissection wish: PARACOSM PRETTY PLEASE. What an absolute beast of a tune!
