But this was the whole point of COVID: let's stop pretending that it was just a nasty disease that got out of hand. Fortunately people across the world have stood up to the totalitarian surveillance state that COVID was supposed to usher in, but we came very close to it being the 'new normal' outside China as well as within and are not out of the woods yet: the people promoting this model in big business and government are still at large and Western countries still have to deal with their own financial collapse just as China does. Sadly freedom loving Western countries have always been plagued by those wanting to get rich through monopoly trading relationship with authoritarian regimes, particularly China: the American Revolution happened on the back of the 1773 Tea Act opening up direct trade with China; trade with China clearly remains a high priority for many US politicians and businesses; Britain fought two Opium Wars to protect lucrative trade with China; even now many influential British politicians and business people are members of the 48 Group Club, set up in the 1950s to promote trade with CCP controlled China; trade with China remains very important for many EU countries; the late Anthony Sutton also wrote extensively about the role of Wall Street and other Western commercial interests in supporting Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union whilst outwardly opposing them. The world is not as it seems.
