About the demons, fiends and Denji, I interpret them like that : Demon = Just demon body and soul Fiend = Demon in soul, human in body Denji = Human in soul, demon in body That another reason that why I think of Devilman as an inspiration, Denji is like Akira, a demon with a human mind and the fiends are some demons that possess a human body, a sort of reverse "devilmen". But, I will not say more because spoiler, just that we learn more about all of that in the futur.
