Thanks! I pretty sure Jake will have his comment on this, but this Whole episode where the fight in both sides are just on terrible odds, hit so hard. Erwin speech was amazing, but I never thought he gave a thought to those who he sacrificed to get here until this episode. Cause my mind goes back all the way to S1 where they had to sacrifice a lot of scouts to get the female titan in the forest, Levi brings it up, and Erwin brushes it off…
Seeing this type of emotion from him, just made him so human for once in my eyes… such a great character..

I don’t know how often I’m going to leave comments but I had to talk about this because I love this episode and Erwin as a character. I really feel like the stuff they decided to do with his character in this season was really intriguing/interesting. Especially the stuff about their comrades and the dichotomy of the selfish and selfless parts of him. I think Levi making the decision for him which is something he always talks about allowed Erwin to do this. Also I love that he said he would have to lie to get the recruits to do this but when it came down to it he told the truth. There are so many chilling moments in this episode with brutal stuff but the way it ends just as more scouts are getting decimated is amazing in the worst way. Finally I think you speak for many of us AOT fans Jake when talking about how Erwin could get you to do anything with just a few words. Also sometimes when a show is subverting expectations it’s not good “cough GOT even if the 1st 4 seasons were fantastic cough” but I think this show as well as Arcane do it really well. I love this reaction. Keep up the great work. :-) <3
