2025-05-08 23:55:11 +0000 UTCthis is probably the 'sexiest' of all her songs and was released in the midst of her toxic relationship with her now ex (I cant even say his name that man disgusts me to no end), as well as her song back and forth is on the 'sexier' side. I think you should react to the first solo song she ever released 'Angel', it was her first single and it was immediately nominated for a grammy and is dedicated to her newborn baby as well as the pain she had to endure for being a princess in such a racist environment. Halle has always dealt with comparisons and judgments since she was a kid but when the directors of TLM noticed her during her grammys performance and decided then and there she needed to be their mermaid, Halle was exposed to the most hate and vitriol she ever experienced in her life and I don't think it was something anyone had prepared her for, you have to remember she was still a kid. So I don't blame her for her life choices at all in fact where ppl thought she was too young to be in love or have a kid, I saw that her baby Halo was her saving grace and a source of unconditional love and healing that gave her the strength to go on so songs like 'Angel' and 'In your hands' are beautiful odes to her wanting to live her life for her, not to let others tear her down bc they will never have that right when all her dreams were to be an inspiration, to be exposed to the darkness of the world in the way that she was is almost unforgivable, I am grateful that she is stronger than all the ppl who are envious of her bc she is such a lovely person who is stronger than anyone even though she deserves to be treated like the young girl she was, not a target. sorry I got so passionate.
