2025-10-23 20:14:13 +0000 UTCWhat really sucks is before Rick's death they were actually writing a 4th series of Bottom.

2025-10-13 16:26:48 +0000 UTCβThey must be best friendsββ¦. They really were. Ade is quoted as saying him and Rik were in love with each other in a plutonic way. They would often write each otherβs characters and lines as they just loved to do that, as they loved each other and would often just laugh themselves silly. It really shows in what they did together.

2025-10-10 19:38:24 +0000 UTCI went to see weapons Grade Y fronts tour, in Birmingham. I am so honoured to have seen them live.

2025-10-09 10:50:01 +0000 UTCI'm not sure if others have mentioned, but there's an American movie with Rik as the co-main star, along with Phoebe Cates called Drop Dead Fred. It was made in 1991 It's actually pre-dates Bottom. It has the same type of humour as Bottom though. It got mixed reviews at the time, but I loved it.

2025-10-08 08:13:31 +0000 UTCI went to see them in 2003, Bottom Live 2003 Weapons Grade Y Fronts Tour. I was so lucky to see them. Huge fan, grew up watching Rik as Kevin Turvey in Kick up the 80s then watching both of them as the Dangerous Brothers, then the brilliant The Youngs Ones, The Comic Strip Presents, the 3 series of Bottom, the live shows and the movie Guest House Paradiso.

2025-10-07 15:17:43 +0000 UTCIf the rest are anything like this one (especially act two), it would have been a bloody amazing experience!

2025-10-07 04:40:58 +0000 UTCI was never old enough to get to a live show. My cousin did and I was forever jealous of him, always hoped they'd do one when I was old enough but sadly it never came to be. I love the series but the live shows were top tier for me.

2025-10-06 09:51:56 +0000 UTCAre you doing the film?
Andi Main
2025-10-06 09:32:39 +0000 UTCYes they would have done a tour nationwide, I'm not sure if it had spread to Wales and Scotland but I'm guessing it would have as Bottom was a much loved and very popular sitcom and plus the fact Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson were/are themselves much loved and legends in British comedy. In 1995 I was lucky enough to see them live in their second Bottom stage show at the Hammersmith Apollo, which Hammersmith is an area in London where they live in the TV series. Hopefully you will react to it at some point as it was also very funny.

2025-10-06 08:21:26 +0000 UTCYes, the shows toured the country. It was a little different every night, thanks to the ad- libbing. It was a joy to work on.

2025-10-06 08:14:40 +0000 UTCItβs so silly but a lot of fun to watch. I especially love the bits when they make mistakes. Rik and Ade are legends. Brilliant reaction. Hereβs a recommendation, not for a reaction but because you both seem to genuinely love these guys i thought you might be interested in this. Itβs an episode from the Desert Island Discs series, Ade Edmondson talks about his life, working with and losing his friend, Rik. Itβs interesting and gets very emotional at one point. I highly recommend it. https://open.spotify.com/episode/14zqJveruqBEEWksCJidR4?si=8bzr5G-XTV6nVF9KcGovfg
