We've made another video about the Bondi shooting. We didn't want to but the way discourse has unfolded on this tragedy has been truly insane and there a few things we felt need to be talked about.
This video will come out later in the afternoon but we're interested in hearing your thoughts. Soon we'll have the Keating Banking video mentioned in the Accord video, we've just been busy putting together these videos for the time being.

As someone said, there's more than one way to destroy social cohesion. Is the decision-making all in the lap of the AFP Commissioner and ASIO? There seems to be a 'convention' that they get agreement from the states, but that can be ignored? In practice, is this just going to be used as another way for police to persecute poor people and immigrants? I know we don't have a bill of rights, but what happened to freedom of association? Is it true that we're now criminalising 'ridicule' and 'contempt' of protected groups? If so, I'm in trouble.

Calm down and slow down. If there was support I suggest the media respect, poloticians please Shhhhhhh..... What of the victims? Is it ok to drench them in media bandying?! Happened here. Although did find a cool piece of information recently that relates to the recent tragedy, did you know that Abbott with a member on the crossbench back in 2015 helped loosen gun laws to allow for rapid-fire shotguns like those used in the recent tragedy? Thought that was a interesting bit of trivia to share. Seems almost silly people are calling for an RC now when all this info is in the public domain for everyone to see

2025-12-22 12:52:12 +0000 UTCTo me, citizenship requirements seem sensible and allowing ASIO to tell the cops you're a terrorist and unfit to own a gun seems like something that should have already been the case? But the removal of hunting as a genuine reason and a cap of 4 (specifically for hunters) seems a bit odd considering they used 3 guns during their attack. I'm a licence holder who hunts for enjoyment but I'm also a conservation biologist and have used firearms in that role as well - I'd like to hear other views, especially how said proposals (which haven't been fully announced yet) might go towards preventing future tragedies.
