Victorian Labor + Video Suggestion Thread
Added 2025-09-05 07:11:14 +0000 UTC[Patreon Exclusive]
Hello Patrons,
Read the description for this one!
The winner of the last poll was a video on Victoria Labor. This started as the housing video we released last week which was heavily focused on Vic Labor. After that we weren't quite sure what we could do specifically do on Vic Labor that would still be relevant. So here are some of Jordan's thoughts on their current state. This video is just for the patrons because it's a more behind-closed-doors type of vid. if you have anything you'd like us to focus on let us know in the comments.
This also just applies for any video topic, not just Vic Labor. Put any of your next video suggestions here because we want to start making polls again so we can make more videos that you patrons want to see!
We should have the big China video mentioned here ready for you over the weekend too. You'll be getting it early, of course.

Late to this but my take is that Dan Andrews is a sick cunt, and it was clear because he had a national profile as high as Scott Morrison. I wonder how Scotty felt, to be playing second fiddle to a Victorian premier? Nah but Victoria is pretty good, if they can inject some more cash into the country to fix some roads which is all I ever hear anybody whinge about, they'll keep getting elected for the next century

2025-10-02 19:06:26 +0000 UTCI’m a Victorian. Truthfully can’t thank the Labor government enough or even process the amount of work they’ve done but weirdly enough I think the exhaustion comes out the most with those urban developments. You said there it’s like outer space, here it’s like Ctrl C. There’s a tad less character (which I by no means saying that a Liberal party would effectively) in each of our suburbs. The most opinionated and dare I say beloved suburb of the lot is Frankston because a lot of it is a shit hole. It’s funny. It has character (and not the type “character” that Mr Bandt had been proclaiming the CBD has). The most interesting thing that’s happened in my suburb for a long time is that a new restaurant was built in suburb next to mine. Our suburbs grow by us claiming a new thing (shit or not) outside of it because everything else within the suburb is already good. I don’t know whether half of the suburbs people talk about actually exist. At a social level, suburbs aren’t designated by zones, the things in the suburb end up preceding the identity of what the suburb is. It’s not the KFC in Newscastle, it’s “Chelsea Heights? that’s the one by the GYG right?” and the GYG WILL BE IN THE SUBRUB OVER. It’s stupid and hilarious. I know that there’s the whole “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mantra, but the one thing I’d like to see more of from Victoria is innovation. I appreciate now knowing what they’ve been doing to the electricity grid.

2025-09-20 07:33:09 +0000 UTCThe libs have had 4 leaders in 4 years they can't organise themselves little lone the state. thier policies is no Labor is fucked isn't really a ticket to be backing. The danger for them is the "anyone but them vote" that is a lazy way of voting but one that will cost seats. Grey vote is tired of the spending probs because the benefits will be realised when they are in the ground so like holding onto generational wealth they don't want it to go to the youth off their pay lol

2025-09-08 17:03:14 +0000 UTCHow can they ban gas in new builds (awesome) and then just try and tax all EV drivers? you with the future or against it. thats about my knowledge of VIC politics haha As for china, they are absolutly the winner, they are a great global citizen and people need to look at America how they are being told to look at china. As long as we have AUKUS, we have a target on our backs.

2025-09-06 10:03:43 +0000 UTCI'd take an exhausted, semi-comatose Labor government over a fresh LNP government every time.

2025-09-05 22:28:10 +0000 UTCHigher density is okay if a trade off for centrality. Those who already lived there beforehand get cranky, but coming in from, I dunno, the Dandenong Ranges, it's brilliant near a real train (no offence Puffing Billy) and where surrounding suburbs are also useful and mere minutes away

2025-09-05 22:27:17 +0000 UTCEvery new Estate in Victoria is more and more cramped. I know this because im in them delivering to the construction. People won't park in their own garages, or their empty driveways. But we still have to build in there

2025-09-05 11:49:07 +0000 UTCa video on the WA Labor party would be interesting they go under the radar but they've achieved a lot in the 8 years in govt they've had, and still another 4 years before the next election and nearly wiping the liberals out of WA is huge

2025-09-05 09:57:17 +0000 UTC80s Vic Labor had a liberal held senate. We don't want a repeat of that. We want to increase the numbers of Labor senators somehow. Great behind the scenes though.

2025-09-05 09:55:21 +0000 UTCI was going to say, the grift of people like punters politics, he's now a lobbyist to snark. And honest government has now done a video attacking Norway now. And therefore the workers. I'm glad Jordan mentioned the article from Minnie and snark, I am glad I have a word for the whinge merchants now. And it was funny how Shane used to say how much he was earning from Patreon then one day just went quiet.

2025-09-05 09:52:45 +0000 UTCShit on the ABC. You've gone soft on them. Their coverage of Dan Andrews at a WWII commemoration is nothing short of disgusting. They completely obscured the fact that it was to commemorate Japan's surrender, instead plastering everywhere DAM ANDREWS ATTENDS CHINA MILITARY PARADE. Eta apologies if you cover the above in this post, haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet
THOMAS
2025-09-05 09:34:39 +0000 UTCYes. The autistic parents world are getting very vocal about potentially not getting funding for Thier child that has moderate autism. I've read comments from people claiming to be occupational therapists, suggesting that some parent groups use the NDIS as a baby sitter instead of spending time with Thier kids. I'd bet they are usually in inner suburbs and able to afford the diagnosis easily unlike working class outer suburbs going from the lack of specialists outside of the inner city of Melbourne or Sydney.
Alex Isaac
2025-09-05 09:10:34 +0000 UTCYes. We have a messaging problem and also no positive cheer squad for them in the media. It's why Jordan needs to be that voice. He's mentioned good points to promote too.
Alex Isaac
2025-09-05 09:06:48 +0000 UTCAs a Victorian, the press is going after Labor like mad even by Victorian standards. I guess they're smelling weakness with Dictator Dan retired. The press at least believe Labor is in trouble and are capitalizing on it.

2025-09-05 07:57:21 +0000 UTCVic Labor itself is great, but we have a messaging issue. The high rises that the greens love to point out that Labor is kicking people out of, they are literally falling apart. The people are being moved to houses, not apartments and they have to choice to move back, and most have said no. it's funny how the Vic socialists will attack bad landlords for not maintaining properties, but when the government wants to do that, it's an issue too. Otherwise Vic Labor is doing great, unfortunately the masses don't know and they need to know.

2025-09-05 07:44:10 +0000 UTCliberals are hopeless in Victoria. The recent poll shows that they had a sizeable lead in the 2pp, but viclabor has closed back to within 1% of the libs. I agree with jordies on that there will be a correction, but hopefully vic labor gets a 4th term.
GTAuto
2025-09-05 07:33:21 +0000 UTCPeople love to complain about all the roadworks and train disruptions but I am constantly pointing out that we are building the biggest ongoing network in the country. Labor are not just doing a Gladys and haphazardly building a single tram line, they are planning decades ahead. No government has had the foresight to think about, not only a modern Australia can look like, but what Australia can be in 50 years.

2025-09-05 07:28:20 +0000 UTCVic Labor is suspect they will hold government for probably one more term, the media have been hounding the living shit out of vic labor for literally everything, from machete bins, big build, SRL, Crime, emergency services the list goes on. Maybe a one term Tory just to show the electorate that the libs are completely incompetent so labor gets in and keeps vic in a solid position
