I assume you already checked this, but just something that came to mind: I notice at 3:36, Keen's loading screen says AdLib support was detected, was it maybe just turned off in Keen's settings?
Anyway, the end result is great!! Good work man! I love when a project comes together like that, no feeling quite like it! :D

That Barbie computer was creepily looming in the , like it's being called back the grave.

The sheer joy and excitement that you get from doing what you do and the level of respect and care you give to each piece of equipment that you have is why I'm here. Its pretty infectious. Excellent work.

Man, when you do a project like this, you pull out all the stops. You not only get pretty much all the components, but you also acquire a matching blue power cable just for this. And not only that, you buy paint in order to paint flames on the cable, too? That is some intense commitment, sir. Speaking of decorative flames, I know someone who unironically dresses like Guy Fieri. But at least he doesn't copy his hair.

I mean, you could gut a DeLorean and just use the chassis to house a different car's guts, but then it wouldn't be a DeLorean. Same deal here. A DeLorean isn't a very practical car, it's really rare, but it's got the cool factor. So does the Hot Wheels PC. It's the DeLorean of the Wintel PC world. You'd be hard-pressed to find any other Wintel systems from 1999 onwards that are interesting enough to collect, much less come close to it.
Anyway, I wonder if the wheel will show up as a DInput device? If so, you might be able to hook it up to a more modern system and see how it registers.

Heh, yeah the shoddy build quality of late-90's stuff especially is a beast to contend with

Glad someone understands my reasoning! I could ravage the whole thing and update it, but it's much cooler to do it this way, I think.
And yeah, I wonder about the wheel being digital instead of analog. It would match the cheapness of the rest of it.

Agreed, hehe. I plan to do that when I do a proper review video of the pair.

No turbo button needed, the flames make it turbo ALL THE TIME

yeah bought an old tv, and had it for half a day before it blowed up. So I say everything before 90s well the middle 90s needs wizardry to work.

I totally agree with you on restoring this. These are super rare and for good reason, so even just to be able to say you have one in perfect working order is a huge accomplishment and just plain cool.
I wonder... Looking at how the wheel responds (at least in that game), is it even analog, or is it "buttons" like the pedals? It would be an intriguingly crappy wheel if it just registered left/right D-pad presses. I wonder how it works on the inside.

Congrats! Thanks for the fantastic video. Naturally you should play Barbie games on the Hot Wheels PC.

The steering wheel reminds me of when the adjuster for the wheel in the car decided to disintegrate into several hundred bits, that was quite, erm................entertaining.

Will the flames make the PC go faster? Serious question.

Holy. RNGesus...
I had that game and played it obsessively back when I had a compaq with Windows ME on it. I played the living fuck out of it and my favorite thing was the backwards driving and the fireworks. Man I had all but forgotten about it. Damn it dude, you are making me want to go out and dig up a copy of that game..
