LGR - LP-style PC Game Boxes

Comments

I was lucky to get the Bioshock 2 vinyl on clearance at Target! Whole collector's edition for 5 bucks

LGR

Nice! Speaking of game vinyls, I got the Bioshock 2 soundtrack on vinyl. It kicks a fair amount of ass. I also got the Sonic-blue vinyl that came with the Mega Drive Collection for PS3. Good times!

RetroSwim

It says right up above -- updated video link!

LGR

What happened to the video??

Although it was a very long time ago, I think my copy of Deluxe Paint for DOS came in one of those things... Keyword "THINK" as I was only about seven years old at the time, give or take a year. :P I kinda wish I kept all my boxes and such for my computer games from childhood, but both of my parents had a knack for tossing things they figured weren't important anymore... that, and I did have a tendency to lose things every once in awhile, including game disks. :/ I'm a LOT more careful about that sort of thing nowadays. ;)

Kris Asick

Nice i didnt know games had been in lp sleves i only thinked of box`s in different shape especially trapes and standar+ the thinnner or smaler ones. :)

StigDesign1

Glad you think so! And sure, call anytime!

LGR

This was a really super relaxing video. Love when you just go on and on about your collection like this. :) But I must know... can I call you on your rotary phone and say "buhduhzzzuh zuh zuh buzzahuh" too???!

Lindsay Michelle

Nice!

LGR

Oh yeah, Rockstar sold it in limited quantities on their store for a while. I love that album.

LGR

holy wow! i didn't know red dead released a vinyl. that was a beautiful record

Jason Potter

Awesome! I used to have F/A-18 Interceptor for the Amiga in this kind of LP-style box: http://hol.abime.net/469/boxscan

I've managed to pick up a few recently (via some US sellers), and they are such a wonderful thing to behold. Especially with how the same titles were distributed here in Australia - instead of the folio cover, the distributor used a big clamshell style case, with *none* of the interior art preserved :'(

Rob Caporetto

You need to show off those programs!

Nicholas Peck

Let me know if you need any hints. The Pinball Construction Set one is very abstract (the ball itself is part of the logo IIRC) but some are very easy, like Demon Stalkers (look at the treasure chest).

Jim Leonard

Oh okay, that's cool! Good video as usual, Clint! I'm a vinyl collector so I'm weak for these boxes...

Alyxx the Rat

Wow, I didn't even know that they would pack games like this in the day. a little odd fact.

Sabrina

ahh ok. I guess I never caught the video's early enough that I came across revisions like this. Now I know and knowing is half the battle! (i think the other half is the pizza party at the end, but I might be wrong)

Sterling Treadwell

Haha, absolutely.

LGR

Mentioned below, but this is a simply a revised video link! There will be another after this too, seeing as this is early access and I often tweak vids many times before final release

LGR

Definitely worth checking in records to see! Though I've never found any personally, I got all these online or from other collectors

LGR

Nothing odd, I simply re-uploaded for a revision as I often do! This one will be taken down as well for another revision... this IS early access after all :)

LGR

Hehe, thank you

LGR

Beyond the obvious logo printed on there? I'll have to see if I can find them!

LGR

Not gonna lie, I got a Ronnie James Dio vibe from the inside of that FaeryTale Adventure sleeve.

Sutekh94

I saw this video posted this morning and then it disappeared and now it's apparently back again... weird...

Alyxx the Rat

I bet these get mixed up with records at the thrift stores. I skip the record section most of the time but maybe worth a browse. The only LP sleeve games I have are for Amiga. I didn't even know they were sleeves at first, they just looked like flat cardboard with cool game art.

Jesse Marcon

yay this time the link from email worked. i got this last night as well and it just lead to the main patreon page with nothing showing up on your profile.. odd

Sterling Treadwell

Hahaha! Loved the whole "DOS emergency phone" bit :) And the rest of the video of course. Keep up the good work!

André Waage Sørensen

Haven't seen the video yet, but did you know that the art designer for ea hid the ea logo somewhere on every folio (the official name for "album" boxes)? See if you can find it in the ones you have.
