All I had to do was enable "run as admin" and Windows XP mode. I was running on Win7 64-bit.

This was definitely a great game, and the expansion packs were amazing. I enjoyed making my own water shows and killing everyone with dinosaurs lol.
Zoo Tycoon 2 took everything to a whole new level, and is really my go-to game between the two.
I haven't played the one on the xbox, but I'm not entirely excited to play it. There's been allot of bad things said about the game.

What do you recommend to do if you want to run Zoo Tycoon on a modern windows pc?

Yeah, I was researching just how many "tycoon" games came out when making this video? I lost count at 190...

Indeed, it's a great game but with no way to purchase the game legit anymore, it's one that I don't have a problem with "obtaining" online until it's available for sale again. But you didn't hear that from me!

Sigh ... I've always hated the fact that Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 removed the ability to mass murder the customers who come in. It'd be by far my favorite in the series if it weren't for that, but because of that it's tied with RCT2 for me.
Game looks fun though! I'd like to get Zoo Tycoon 2, but the lack of digital form (discs give me hives) and the large price for the bare naked discs make me reconsider.

Nice I remember that game. I think we have that. I really liked it back than.

The moment I saw "Tycoon" start to appear on games left, right and centre, I started avoiding them. Rollercoaster Tycoon II was my first time spotting and playing one. Airport Tycoon was the next which I found fun yet buggy. Then I saw like, five Tycoon games I never heard of all together on the same shelf in a freakin' office supply store and was like, "...no." XD
Glad to see they didn't all suck though. ;)

It's all about letting the animals run wild right? That's how I'd want to play it - especially with that dino expansion pack. Or maybe I'm just feeling like I'd want some chaos!
(Also… props on showing GP Legends when referring to Papyrus. Such a darn overlooked simulator.)
(Also… double props on that Amiga T-Shirt :D)

Thank goodness my cat doesn't send me hate just for having too many plants around the house.

I've never played SimPark much myself, since I didn't get it til much later on. Played a bit more SimSafari though.

Thanks! Letting loose the creatures was literally the first thing I wanted to do when I got this.

Hehe, well dangerous rides can potentially explode... but dinosaurs have huge teeth. That's a tough one.

This was one of my favourite games as a kid, I'm really glad you covered it. letting all of the dangerous animals loose was always my favourine thing to do once I got bored. Great review :)

Love your snooty animal voice; gotta have some prime snark in an LGR review. ...BTW, what brings more hilarity to your Tycoon games - killing people with dangerous rides, or killing people with dangerous animals? :D

Thanks for the vid! Reminds me of my real life with 2 cats and a dog. Animals can be so demanding.
