Comments

Appreciated, sir!

LGR

Rodent's Revenge! I reviewed that a while back, it's linked to at the end of this video

LGR

Great Review! Great history of the game and what is being done with it today.

I liked the cat/mouse game from windows 95 with the cheese and stopwatches and stuff.

haha. only you could pull off an actually interesting and enjoyable minesweeper review :) nice one again Never wanted to play it though because I've always been afraid I'd get too addicted to it :) i know I would

Banjo Guy Ollie

Happy to edutain!

LGR

Yup, same, I just put it on the easiest custom difficulty and clicked to see lots of squares clear at once

LGR

The logic certainly takes a certain type of brain activity to "get", and one that I'm not always the best at following myself.

LGR

Right? These players can be intense.

LGR

Learning what I have about the Minesweeper community, that doesn't surprise me, however unfortunate

LGR

Glad to hear it!

LGR

Oh yeah, I'd like to cover his games like Faces and El-Fish

LGR

Mission accomplished then, hehe

LGR

Ya never know :)

LGR

Never would've guessed that something so simple can have so much depth.

I wonder if there's a way to install the games that used to come with Windows, i.e. Minesweeper in Windows 8(.1) without using a MS account...

Once you have more Japanese PCs at your disposal, a video like this for the history and community of Sokoban would be cool. In the meantime, how about giving Spectrum Holobyte's DOS localization a whirl? I'm also curious about games Pajitnov designed or produced/promoted after Tetris/before Pandora's Box.

Leon Staton

this and kabal(or what is called in english)i used to play before i got to play doom sharware hidden on a school pc lol :)

StigDesign1

Mind fucking blown! I never thought there would ever be that much depth inside it - great one to watch, and learn a bit about such a game ;)

Rob Caporetto

It's too bad the Minesweeper game I made myself barely works on modern systems anymore given its age... Actually, the problem I ran into trying to market my Minesweeper game was that the target audience, Minesweeper players, weren't interested in fun features like sound effects and alternate game modes, they just want to challenge their numbers with basic grids of mines and they don't have to pay money to do that. :P

Kris Asick

That's awesome! I hope to see a review on Solitaire, Hearts and FreeCell! :D

Ian Guebert

Holy banana, that's serious stuff.

Sabrina

I hate minesweeper it made me so nervous that I nearly punched trough the PC Monitor and grab it's bloody, electrical, beeping heart and squish it. I have no fun memories of that game.^^ Because I still don't really get how to detect anything in this game.

Ezydenias

Haha me to. I have tried playing it before as a last resort and I couldnt figure it out for the life of me.

Steven Friar

Woah...

Alyxx the Rat

... When I was younger, I just mashed my mouse all over the place, hoping not to die. Had no idea it was this deep lol

The Disgruntled Cactus

Great video man! Really enjoyed it.

I remember playing minesweeper alot when we were going through some downtime at work. I still from time to time play it. I is addictive sometimes...

Douglas Holmes

Yay - you finally did a Mindsweeper video! Was expecting you to have insomnia-driven LP about it ala LGR Plays Solitaire, but hey, the great majority of facts in this video were things I never knew before. Good to know Mindsweeper has unexpected depth, haha. :)
