The Corallium Contagione, aka the Infectious Pink Coral, is a fungus that takes over humans' minds and bodies. They grow near bodies of water and contaminates those pools of water with their spores. Victims who drink the contaminated spore water will inevitably become infected and begin transforming.

This boy, Samuel, had gotten thirsty while exploring a forest. He promptly found a pond with strange looking pink plants growing on its banks, he didn't think much of it as he was too thirsty and took multiple gulps of the seemingly clear pond water. What he didn't know was that the water had been polluted with spores from the Pink Coral.
