Paint programs eh? That will be interesting. We had Dr. Halo when I was a kid, I think it came bundled with Genuis mice. Tangentially related, I used to think that song "Doctorin' The Tardis" by KLF was about Dr Halo. I was a dumb little kid. :P

This is really odd ware! The price was really out of site.

That's so bizarre. And so cool. I've never seen these in actual use in my life...

Very cool ! :)
I wonder if it's at all possible to put them all in a local network (obviously some won't even have an ethernet port or a TCP/IP stack) just for the fun of it. ;-)

It's decently acceptable :D

True that. Becoming unnatural really defeats the purpose of the form factor, heh.

I'm going to have another table set up to set up other computers, Amigas included!

Yes indeed! One I mentioned in the video, the Genius Mouse Pen, uses an optical sensor.

Man I waited so long for this thing.^^ Finally I know what kind of shit that shitty thing is. Or is it maybe pretty good? Let's watch the video.

Accessing the buttons seems hard to achieve. This device seems to be midway between a drawing tablet's pen and a regular mouse.
Also, I like how you put your computers on the same table. I guess the plan is to have them all ready to be used by having keyboard+mouse (and maybe speakers for those with a sound card) attached ? (in the video it seems only the middle one had keyboard + "mouse").
Are you going to put your Atari, Amiga, C64, and other computers too (that would need a very long table) ? ;-)

This thing actually kinda reminds me of Dragon Quest Swords on the Wii. Although I find the game very fun, because of the limitations of the motion detection in the original Wii Remote, you had to always hold it with the button side facing upwards constantly, no matter what kind of attacks you were doing, otherwise your attacks would just completely miss the mark.
This MousePen thing is much the same way: If you try to hold it in a natural way it doesn't work, so it sort of misses the whole point of being shaped to be held in a natural way in the first place. :P

Yay, first time I'm seeing your new LGR room in a video! Looks great! :) And that pen just keeps reminding of a tablet pen, just with a track ball and clicky mouse buttons, even if it's not supposed to be. The whole concept seems slightly awkward no matter what - probably why it didn't catch on. ;)

*giggles* I was surprised when I saw it used a ball. Do you know if they actually made optical pen mice?

If that pen had a "directional control" on it, so you could define where "north" is, I'd so chuck out my Wacom tablet and get one of these.

I'm really digging the SimCity music in this video. For some reason it really suits the subject. Although maybe that's because it's just way too late and all of a sudden everything is interesting and noteworthy.

Oh dude I love your set-up with 3 computers all in a row. I don't think there's unbroken space in my apartment for that even if I got rid of all the furniture.
