LGR - Thrifts [Ep.9] Discount Store Weirdness

I am glad you collection is growing. I just do not like to shopping just to look around. I like know what I want and go get it. Maybe being with all those people just causes me to freak out! I just need a room with a computer a place relieve myself and some food once in a while.

Its nice your Salvation Army stores have reasonable prices. here the video game stuff is ridiculously overpriced. I mean playstations 1's and n64's for $99. old tube TV's from the early 90's for $30-$40 when the Goodwill down the street has HD tube TV's for $1. There is a event hosted by the boy scouts here monthly called electronicsfest. I think of your episodes every time I go to it. Insane finds there. I'm talking perfect condition classic compact macs, Pentium overdrives and boxed Voodoo 5's for under $10.

90s hotwheels are cool especially the ones that whas in HotWheels turbo racing :D

Awesome finds there. Especially the records. And LEGO for 50 cents? Colour me jelly.

Actually a lot of good records there. Supertramp, wheren't they a Prog Rock group? Man you got all of them! I hope you have a turntable.. Tha action figure made me slightly scared. Kids don't really know what weird is anyway, they'll just become weird and 'off' themselves from connecting with this thing. We need more strange people. Please review Crush Course ASAP

Hardts

I actually showed the recording setup I use at the end of Episode 3. And thank you!

LGR

Hi LGR, I've been watching some of your thrifting videos lately, and I just got to ask, cause I don't know much about filming and... stuff: how do yo go around goodwills filming without being noticed? Super secret agent glasses? Love your work, by the way

Sabrina

(And btw. Yes I talk allot) Man Lego, still have mine.^^ Actually we have a special lego store in our city and I never get the american movies with "I still played with lego when I was 15" because half of the costumers that actually buy there have to be adults, I mean all of them are but half of them do it for them selves.^^

Ezydenias

so totaly awesome.^^

Ezydenias

Man that was one awesome typewriter. I think I have this affinity for typewriter because I still used one when I was in my apprenticeship. So yeah Typewriter are not totally useless today.

Ezydenias

Oh yeah, if it were a 6-switch I'd be more inclined to grab it. Especially a Heavy Sixer of course.

LGR

Man Foreigner, so cool.^^ I think we even have an Amiga Foreigner LP, which is fricking cool because that means it was sold in the GDR.

Ezydenias

Man you are alone with testing before buying.^^ But I may be more into repairing things like old consoles.^^ xD.^^ But to sad it is no 6 switch one, I am always looking for a cheap prized wooden 6 switch one (And brown not even the Darth Vader), my brother really would love to have one.^^

Ezydenias

Oh, and there was a lot of hate because Marc Ecko was a douche and made fun of "nerd gamers" just before release. Don't let the Phil Fishes run the Fezzes.

Aaron Alcorn

Most of the complaints I've read are about bugs or in your face ads. Yeah, there's a ton of ads, but it's no more buggy than most games. It's a decent 3D platformer, with graffiti, stealth, and decent fighting. The story does have one major plot hole, but everything else makes up for it. Did I mention the music? This game is the tits.

Aaron Alcorn

That about sums it up, I thought for sure they'd closed down too.

LGR

Hehe. And thanks, glad you're enjoying!

LGR

Yeah, this was a really lucky outing this time.

LGR

Whoa, is it really? Weird, I'd heard nothing but bad about it!

LGR

I'm glad to see that you got Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure. It may be one of the most underrated games after (Deus Ex: Invisible War, anyways), but it's one of my favorite games. I know I tend to be in the minor on these topics, but clearly there was some market for Getting Up aside from me. Devolver Digital recently upped the resolution and re-published it, and it's getting a sequel on the PS4. Have fun getting your name up on the street, LGR!

Aaron Alcorn

You seem to have no problem finding rich treasure troves of stuff. If I hit a Goodwill I'm lucky if I see a 30 year old Crock Pot and some acid-washed mom jeans. I'm getting a strong "Scrapyard Wars" vibe here of "yard seeding".

Michael Hogan

Huh. I didn't know PushingUp Roses owned a thrift store! But I guess she has to feed her bird somehow! :P Joking aside, it's always so entertaining watching you go to thrift stores and vicariously visiting them through you.

Jess the Stampede

Good lord I remember Roses. Last time I was in one I think I was 8. Always hated it, lights in the store didn't half work, smelled old and musty. I thought they had all closed down in this area.

David Pruitt

Seriously makes the perfect lazy mascot.

LGR

LOL! Super Military Guy looked awesome, I lauged out loud :P

Heh, yeah it's quite bizarre indeed... and yup, bought some NES games, Genesis, SNES, PC games there. Miss those days.

LGR

So cool that you too realize that about Roses. I remember buying NES games there as a kid too.
