The Next mini Cartoon (featuring small blue gnome)

Got another short cartoon in the works featuring a bizarre presenter, toast buttering and blue gnomes that are running around.
This one is mostly going to be lip sync so it's pretty minimal for the most part. The gif of the guy gesturing is a good example of the character animation for this as I experiment with new ways of animating to save time whilst also getting the motion across. As he gestures, it is just one pose for each gesture with a tiny bit of easing in and out between each one; I'm starting to realise that you can get pretty far with just a few simple key poses that you can manipulate slightly to convey movement.
A shot that contains a lot more frames packed in is the blue gnome running in a circle. I started with a circle angled at the perspective I wanted him to run around in for reference and then planned a very rough gnome shaped guy to glide along it, shrinking him ever so slightly as he moved away from the camera. Once I was happy with the rough movement and perspective I cleaned the lines up and gave him a bit more character design and then eventually gave him the blue coat of paint.
As it's evident from the rest of the stills from the short, I am enjoying using the exact same front facing face drawing repeatedly, it's saving time and it just looks funny to me when awkwardly angled in a head turn to the camera.
Currently I'm helping my parents move out of their house so will have to pause this for a couple of days but I'll be back at the weekend with updates and an early screening for this second short cartoon.
