I'm just glad they didn't have to use the adrenaline on Olivia this time, like I thought they would when it was mentioned. That poor woman has been stabbed in the heart with adrenaline enough already!

2025-08-11 16:47:47 +0000 UTCThis one is definitely an underrated episode, mostly because it aired back to back with 13 so it gets a bit lost when people talk about the final part of the season but there is some great stuff in this one. The two main things in this one are obviously Olivia getting her powers back to save Michael and the return of the alternate universe, that scene with the cortexiphan injections was rough to watch, both they way it was shot and Anna’s performance really make you feel like something almost “unnatural” is happening, also that tiny moment when Peter is preparing Olivia by putting electrodes one her is a perfect mirror to the pilot scene where she is preparing to use the tank to enter John Scott’s mind and they share a similar look between them almost like they are remembering how far they have come since then, it’s a minuscule subtle moment but it’s one of my favorites. Fauxlivia and Lincoln are back! It’s great to see them again, it’s interesting that they had kid, not because it’s surprising that they got together, i think they hinted at it pretty heavily at the end of season 4 but because in the of timeline Olivia had that genetic disorder that made pregnancy extremely dangerous which is why when she was having Peter’s baby Walternate accelerated it in hopes of bypassing it so i wonder if they did a similar procedure or if in the revised timeline Fauxlivia simply doesn’t have the disease. God see Windmark get absolutely destroyed by Michael felt really good and now the observers have also found out that he is far more intelligent than them while also feeling emotions more deeply than humans and i love the consequent discussion Windmark has with his superior and how he is the one pushing for the “destruction” of Michael because after witnessing what he can do first hand he is afraid of him. Polivia once (who is even surprised anymore?) with the most heartbreaking and heartwarming scenes of the ep, that initial one when Olivia gets the idea to use her powers and Peter asks her “What if i lose you too, what happens to me then?” really broke my heart because Olivia was the one thing that clung to escape the pit of darkness he fell after Etta’s death and now there is a good chance he could lose that too, god they really love to torture this family don’t they? I’m curious to hear what people (and yours Dak) are regarding the fact that the observer didn’t invade the alternate universe, personally i think it was for two main reasons, the first is because that world was heavily damaged the first time Walter crossed over and many parts of it degraded and while the bridge between the worlds helped “cure” it partially it probably didn’t fully and the observer needed a world in a good state since the also came from that broken earth we see in the future, the second reason i believe is due to how technology advanced the other side is compared to the blue verse so they probably would have had more ways to fight off the invasion so the observers simply chose the easier path. I’m curious to hear other people’s thoughts though on this subject. So here we are almost at the end, i’m both excited and sad for the finale because while it is an amazing conclusion to this show and i really think you are going to appreciate it Dak i’m also sad that this journey with you is coming to a close, but enough of that because there will be time for emotional closing speeches this Thursday and Friday so let’s leave those for later!
