Alright, let's run the math on the Belters and Murtry this season. Belters: -Ran a blockade -got several ships destroyed -as soon as they get on the planet they immediately begin issuing threats -RCE sends a ship on a peaceful scientific mission, Belters attempt no communication -They blow up their own landing pad to kill 23 people and destroy the heavy shuttle -Roci team shows up, belters start hurling insults, threats, rocks, and eventually pull their fire arms -They defend and protect known terrorists while playing victim -They plan further acts of terrorism -They kidnap two people and hold them hostage while saying "anyone is free to leave" -Even after all of this, the lightning, the machinery almost wiping the settlement out, the razor bugs, and the ultra massive explosion, the belters still only care about their ore -Lucia on the prospect of losing her family or the ore, tells her husband that he has to fight to save the ore, then when faced with the possibility of her daughter falling out of the sky and burning up in the atmosphere, her first thought is about saving the ore, not about saving her daughter. Murtry: -Has 23 of his friends killed before they even land -Survives the crash only to be threatened with further violence -Acts on said threats and eliminates them -Makes his intentions crystal clear from the start, never lied to anyone, or hurt anyone that was undeserving. I was 100% on Murtry's side until he decided to try and take Holden out. In my opinion Lucia is the second worst person on this show, behind a certain someone. Lucia was willing to knowingly sacrifice her own daughter for her ideals. Terrible, terrible, terrible human. And that's not even counting the fact that she murdered 23 innocent people for no reason. To top it all off, instead of facing the consequences of her actions, she chose the cowards way out. The only reason she isn't dead is because Alex and Naomi have giant hearts. Though, to be clear, I'm not a fan of anyones behavior on Ilus except for Amos and Alex. But if I had to pick a side that was more right than the other, Murtry is definitely more right than the Belters, even with his greedy reasoning for wanting them off the planet. On the point of greed, lets not forget the Belters are being greedy too.
