History Buffs: Dunkirk

Hey guys,

Sorry for the delay with this review. I tried uploading earlier but the video player wasn't working so I had to try all over again. It should be working right now.

But in any case I just want to thank you all for your support. YouTube has its up's and down's when it comes to reliability but at every step of the way, you have made it possible for me to turn this hobby of mine into a career. From the bottom of my heart (once again) thank you!

Sincerely,

Nick Hodges

Still, I wish there was more emphasis that 40% of the soldiers saved were French and -- more importantly -- 40,000 French (along with some Scots regiments) were sacrificed holding the perimeter while the bag emptied. Some months back in World of Warships, the French line of cruisers and battleships was introduced, to the derision of the ignorati. I just pointed out how many military terms are of French origin (logistics, bivouac, *soldier* fer cryin' out loud) and those who talk about "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" display only their ignorance of history.

Nice work there Nick :) Just wanted to point out, being a French myself, that this is actually one of the very few times French are mentionnef AT ALL in a WW2 movie and in general present in a historical setting without being either showed as evil or/and cowards (Ridley Scott I'm looking at ya' ). So yes of course colonial and continental French soldiers didn't get enough recognition from since movie, but honestly I found it great that they are hinted at all; and generally all apparition French soldiers have in this movie seems desirved and in context. So really don't worry, it's already much better than usual ^^
