2025-07-06 05:29:33 +0000 UTCHi! I don't know how the sharpness of scans change when using a scanner or using a mirrorless camera - I didn't think that would make a difference? In any case, my film photos from the Pentax 17 were scanned with a Sony A7III and a vintage Mamiya Sekor 60mm Macro lens. In Lightroom, when converting the negative, I also add some extra sharpening, so this is to be considered. However I just added the same sharpening that I always add to my film photos, so it's not like I treated the Pentax 17 photos differently. Personally, just from my experience, I'd say the lens is pretty sharp. It's not the best ever, but it actually positively surprised me, because I was not expecting that level of sharpness from a lens that looks like it could as well be the lens of a disposable camera haha. I hope this clarifies a couple things for you! :)
