First and only time I rode a bike 55 years ago. Bug Tussle TX, pop 20 or maybe 11. Straight flat empty road, no traffic, just flat Texas farmland. It was a big bike maybe an 800CC Indian. No helmet or other protective clothing and no lesson. I think the guy just told me how to shift and sent me off down the road. The ride lasted maybe 10 or 15 minutes and I’m not sure if I ever made it out of first.

2025-10-13 05:47:24 +0000 UTCSpot on learning to ride a motor! Clutching, gears, front /rear brakes…add a stop sign, traffic light, then traffic itself…and finally get it all together! It’s just happened and muscle memory take the fear out…you become somewhat complacent…that’s the danger as you happen to forget to look, they don’t see you…happened to me. Just sayin. 1000 times likelier to have a car crash than crash in a plane. Lot less likely to come to work Monday saying , did you see the airplane or motorcycle crash I was in
