INTEMPERANCE - Chapter 10, Someone Had To Lose

Here's one of the most satisfying chapters I've written in some time. Let me know how you like it.

Comments

It is a beautiful thing. :-) Can't wait to see where this goes from here, and we've got the TSF coming up, I hope.

Tim Keenan

That is a really cool story. Sincerely. If my words helped you accept that your daughter did not choose her path and that it's possible for you to accept it that made every hour at the keyboard worthwhile.

Al Steiner

My 34 year old daughter has just told me she os bisexual. I actually embraced her and said whatever made her happy. She was so surprised and. Happy! Thank you for making me able to accept this (I am a practicing catholic!)!

Bazza

I will fix that in the edit. Thanks.

Al Steiner

Nope. It is what is known as a "Noodle Incident". I think it's a good one too. I could not come up with anything to explain the incident that is better than your own imagination. What do we know about the Charlie and the Jelly Belly incident? There really is a Jelly Belly factory in the SF Bay Area and you really can take tours of it (I did so once). The incident was disturbing. It involved jellybean molds that they can now never use again. The SF Chronicle would not print the story because it would have opened them up to obscenity charges. And even the American Watcher won't print it.

Al Steiner

Al: Did you ever recount Charlie's Jelly Belly incident? You mentioned it in passing several times, but I want to make sure I didn't miss some key episode along the way. :-)

Great, great chapter. One small note on this line, from my decades-old journalism degree: "Jen Collins, the Chronicle reporter who first covered the Kingsleys last month, says no evidence suggests Conners himself leaked the images." No professional reporter would ever name-check or quote herself, even indirectly, in an article under her own byline. This would simply read as "There is no evidence Conners himself leaked the images."
