The violinist experiences some seriously crossed wires as they move along. Don't be too hard on Massa. He's young and dumb as we all once were, and his character dictates his actions. I'm not really trying to portray Massa as unintelligent, just painfully shy and incredibly naive about women. I'm kind of drawing on my young, dumb self to some degree when portraying him. And the path he takes in the next chapter is pretty much what my young, dumb self likely would have done in Massa's circumstances.
