As always, thanks for the incredible stories. I've followed you for years and your writing is always top notch! I don't read the Patreon chapters, I prefer to wait until each book is done so I can devour it at my own pace. One question though, and pardon me if this has already been resolved/discussed, but will there be any mention of/resolution/wrap up regarding Jake's first girlfriend? The one that got religious and tried to paint him as a rapist? Also one other note: The way you write about music and the creative process... I feel like I can almost hear the Intemperance songs as well as Matt, Jake Solo, etc. It's like when something is on the tip of your tongue, but you just can't recall it.

2022-06-26 21:49:25 +0000 UTCWe'll see how this turns out. Napster and the MP3 file did, as I mentioned at the beginning of the chapter, fundamentally destroy the business model of the music industry, but there were many who, in retrospect, were able to embrace and take advantage of it.

I look forward to Crow, Doolittle, et al showing their arses by overreacting in a particularly draconian manner (possibly aided by Matt, whose tax situation makes him particularly sensitive to any revenue threat). I also look forward to seeing the other side of the issue, perhaps with Brainwash benefiting from a growing (paying) fanbase due to Napster giving them free exposure to people who would never have heard their music otherwise (as Radiohead did).
