EPL POLL - First EPL of the new year!
Added 2026-01-05 21:16:35 +0000 UTCOK...I was planning on watching This is Spinal Tap as the first EPL of the year. But, my current capabilities won't allow me to properly capture the video and sound to include in the finished video.
So...I'm switching gears. This is a quick turn-around, as I'm going to record this tomorrow! All of these albums have lots of upvotes and have been on the list for a long time. Which one should I listen to?

Excellent decision, Doug. This way, we get two highly requested albums in January, and you get more time to come up with the next EPL poll. Sounds to me like a win-win for everyone!

2026-01-06 16:08:13 +0000 UTCI voted for Pink Floyd, considering I've heard most of Division Bell live when I saw them in New Orleans in 1994. It was wild at college when at one point at least 3 dorms, including mine, was blasting the same album at the same time!

2026-01-06 15:58:36 +0000 UTCRESULT: Pink Floyd wins by a single vote! As this was so close, I'll do Pink Floyd today and JT next time.

2026-01-06 14:14:44 +0000 UTCSorry, I was late for the voting (I don't mind, all these are good for me) but who won? I can see both The Division Bell and Songs from the Wood at 37%.

2026-01-06 13:52:18 +0000 UTCDoug will love the "folkiness" of Songs from the Wood

2026-01-06 13:34:06 +0000 UTCI went with Floyd in the end, having checked the other two, but honestly I think they should all be done at some stage. You've already done a couple of the GG tracks.

2026-01-06 10:01:00 +0000 UTCSongs From The Wood is one of my lifetime albums. But I love everything from Gentle Giant. Tough one!!

2026-01-06 09:37:07 +0000 UTCHope I'm not too late for this vote, I've only just checked my emails! Not got this album, so it will be a first time listen for me as well.

2026-01-06 08:24:22 +0000 UTCWoo! That's a tough one! Featuring not one but TWO prog rock albums you always show to people who think it ain't "real prog" if the songs aren't 10 minutes plus.

2026-01-06 04:54:49 +0000 UTCSongs from the Wood has been long overdue. Trivia: the song Pibroch has an extended section where Ian Anderson doesn't play and he used it as a Pi* break (you can hear him joking about it in some bootleg recordings)

2026-01-06 04:33:38 +0000 UTCSongs from the wood, definitely. Ages since we have had some Tull and one of the “folky trilogy” is overdue as a contrast to passion play ( I think was the last one?)
