Boston - "More Than A Feeling" REACTION!

Comments

(Continue) And that's what the people saw on tour...as you would see in the link to the live concert that I gave to you. So Boston is not a cohesive band as many YouTubers suspected watching the video. They saw a bunch of individuals playing a part. In that video they were lip syncing to a backing track. In the concert footage they're actually playing. In seeing all the comments, many enjoy the music, as do I. Does it matter that it was a creation of an MIT engineer with a drummer and a vocalist? Does the product overcome the possible disappointment that there truly is not a band called Boston? For Tom Scholz and the record company, it's all about sales. If the public likes the product where's the harm? All is going good for both Mr Scholz and the record company until the record company request the next album. It took Mr Scholz 5 years to make the inaugural album and the record company wants him to put out another album in a year because the record company knows that sales are good when everything is running hot and they want to strike while the iron is hot so to speak. The problem is is Tom Scholz is a perfectionist and it takes time and when the record company sees that it's taking too much time they sue him for breach of contract. He delivers an album in 2 years in which he says he was rushed but it fulfilled the contract. So the Boston band is out on the road touring with the vocalist, the drummer, and the hired instrumentalists promoting the first album and now the second album. Knowing all this Aileen do you feel cheated having received the video to react to? Some YouTubers stated that they would like you to react to the full song video or react to a live concert performance. I believe you have reacted wonderfully to what you were given. You can listen to the longer versions on your own. The fans of Boston have given you plenty of recommendations that are all excellent and I look forward to each and every one of those that you react to. Always know that we are behind you, we are proud of you, we support you, and we love you 😊 Have a great day you and Arya πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

(Continue) This is not unusual back then because the name of the game is selling singles and they want the performance to sound as close to the singles as possible and in the case of Boston exactly the same as the single. Does anyone feel cheated? If it sounds like the single what's the harm, after all, it's all about selling singles. The main question is Aileen do you feel cheated thinking that this was an actual performance? After all you knew nothing of this band so does it really make a difference? Okay now I want to share with you the story of Boston and yes all of what you have read in the comments is correct, Boston is not an actual band. Boston is a creation of an MIT (short for Massachusetts Institute of Technology) engineer in his basement with his drummer to create the soundtrack using synthesizing and digitizing to produce the sound. He wrote the lyrics and played all the instruments. After all the tracks were finished they found a vocalist that would match their soundtrack and the finished product was made. The album is fantastic. In fact, some say it is perfect. Mr Tom Scholz made a masterpiece. Taking 5 years to make. We who were living in the summer of 1976 saw this album drop out of nowhere because usually a band starts off with a few albums that are not so great but they're learning and growing and next thing you know they have a blockbuster album. With Boston it was right there. With the promotion of the singles by the record company, the album stayed on the charts for almost 3 years. Everything is going great for Mr Scholz until the record companies said to him it's time to promote this album and singles with videos and a tour. He knew there was no way that he was going to be able to put together videos and a tour with him, his drummer and the vocalist so he brought in guitar players to fill in the rich sound that he had created in his basement and that is what you see in the video.
