2020-03-02 19:00:39 +0000 UTCaccording to Wikipedia it's a pedestrian crossing where the light signal is on the same side as the pedestrians instead of being on the opposite side. it's supposed to be easier for people with bad sight to see whether they are allowed to cross the road or not, however once you start walking you don't have a visual of the light signal and it is hard to see on busy roads. I hope that explains it.
