The Lost Children Chapters are some of my favorite chapters. (Well, I have many) There is a structure to the story telling and it makes itself more obvious in these chapters. I'll let you try to figure it out. One thing about Apostles, they seem to exhibit are feelings of lust, anger, greed, jealousy and all the bad human emotions that are sinful. So, when Rosine says something that Jill obviously has not said about Guts, it's a bit like the demon side is projecting onto the enemy. I'd say these things are said to goad and tease the enemy instead of saying anything true. She is basically lying to get a rise out of someone to gain an advantage. Just a thought. The story of Peekaf is very important. It is a portrait of a lonely person trying to find themselves in a world they don't feel like they belong in. But it is also a pretty accurate account of what the folklore of what a fairy ring is. It also kind of touches on changelings as well. I would say that Peekaf is kind of but not quite a changeling type of character, but also that there is this long period of time that has gone by. When Peekaf comes back, no one is left that knows him. It's a bit of a time dilation. This is an important point.
