Goblins Against Enshittification

Having experienced firsthand how dating apps commercialize loneliness—and refusing to be at their mercy any longer—I built Goblins with a clear mission: to create a platform that fosters belonging without exploitation. This vision has shaped every decision, from resisting the pitfalls of enshittification to committing to full transparency while building for and with our community. Because now more than ever, there’s a need for a social platform (dating or otherwise) that’s built to do good.

Over the past year and a half, I’ve traveled the country pet sitting and using my personal savings to build Goblins and I can say without a doubt, that it's been the best, most-fulfilling adventure of my career.

With growth now outpacing our (self-funded) development, we've deliberated long and hard about the best approach to ensure we remain a safe, sustainable platform for Goblins- and never commoditizing them or their loneliness. With y'all's input and much deliberation, we've determined that in the future, we'll operate on a nominal monthly membership model (after a free trial period). This will help cover operational costs, deter bots/scammers, and subsidize memberships for Goblins who need financial assistance—because cost should never be a barrier to community.

As promised, y'all get free lifetime access and I’m extending this to our first 5,000 Goblins as a “thank you” for believing in the vision, tolerating bugs, and motivating me when I doubt myself.
