After being dragged into the dimly lit room, Akane Kurokawa found herself lying down on a sofa, the fabric cool and unfamiliar beneath her. Yet she did not sleep—her heart was still pounding steadily.
The room was silent, save for the faint hum of the air conditioner and distant city sounds. The feeling of being trapped pressed down on her, making every movement tense. Shadows from the window and the sofa stretched across the room, giving it a haunting stillness.
She scanned her surroundings, searching for an escape, but the door was closed and the windows were too high to reach. Every sound—her own breathing, the faint shift of the sofa, the ticking of a clock—reminded her that she was not alone.
Akane’s mind raced, seeking ways to regain control and find an opportunity to escape. Even while lying down, her body remained tense, alert to every movement around her. Fear and tension refused to let her relax.
