Status Update #1

Hi all, in the interest of transparency I'd like to provide you regular status updates about the project. I've been urged by those who know about this industry to set up a corporation and trademark all branding as soon as possible, which I've begun. Your contributions will be extremely helpful as the fees that go into this can be substantial. I'd like to get to programming as soon as possible but it's critical that things like this be dealt with early to prevent issues later on.

As a side note, getting to a point where a decent build is available is some ways off. I can't give an exact estimate right now but it will take some time. I just want to be very clear about this since I don't want to be seen as just another Kickstarter indie-game scam. If you're concerned about the wait, feel free to cancel your pledge and rejoin later on when more progress is shown. Ultimately, it's about whatever works best for you. Thanks everyone!

Transparency is always appreciated, don't rush it, and take your time.

Super reasonable, thank you :)

Completely understandable! At this point I haven't agreed to any licensing deals and I plan to keep funding completely independent for the foreseeable future. If that changes, I will definitely provide an update here. Assuming that I do eventually license the Engine Simulator sound generation code, it will most likely happen after development has completed by which time I would have shut down the Patreon campaign. Feel free to message me if you have any questions and thanks for your contribution!

I think the most important bit of transparency you could do is let us know if your tool becomes licensed by other profitable entities, because once that happens I think the people supporting your independence should know - I think what you've done is absolutely incredible but I won't feel any obligation to continue supporting it personally if I know you already are getting plenty bread and butter

I'm already impressed by the sound is generating the simulator with a Ferrari V8 engine i'm playing with; of course things can be improved but i like it so far. I feel a bit the lack of documentation on all the details of the simulator but it's okay for now I'll wait a couple of months before bothering you:)

if it need to take as loung as star citizen to develop, do soo, take all the time you need to make a polished amazing programme. dont forget, stress is your worst ennemy :)

Having this on Steam in the future would be amazing! and it would absolutely crush any other engine sims there. like automation and so on.

I LOVE this simulator, and I would hate for it to be rushed. take your time and enjoy what you are doing. As Hiago Oliveira said, don't feel like you are forced to deliver under tight schedules. I think I can speak for most people that we want to see quality over quantity, and we also want you to enjoy what you're doing.

Didrik Esbjug

Do what no other developer has done in modern history! Release a fully tested and non-bugged to hell game! If that means 5 years, or 10, so be it.

Brayden Moore

Hey Ange, Please don't feel like you're forced to deliver under very tight schedules and don't put yourself under stress just because "some people on the internet" are giving you money because of it. Take your time, do it because you like it, not because you are forced to. That is why we got such a great engine simulator so far, and I feel like that is also the secret to getting whatever next you have planned for it.

Hiago Oliveira

Appreciate the frequent updates and transparency!

Take your time and work hard, that's how you reach a goal, just dont forget me when you are looking for testers, I'm keeping my pledge up as long as I can afford to. :)

Snowe

Yeah better get your ducks in a row. I like the game in its current state, despite its jank. It has a lot of character.
