Welcome!

Hi everyone and thank you very much for your contributions! As stated in my video, Engine Simulator currently exists as a free prototype available on my GitHub page: https://github.com/ange-yaghi/engine-sim

Considering the overwhelming support I've received for this project, I am going to begin development on the real Engine Simulator game immediately and once there is a build available for this, you will all receive a link to download and try it. Please message me if you have any questions or concerns. I noticed some people deleting their pledges shortly after becoming a member (though apparently this is normal) so if you have any feedback, please let me know.

Thanks again!

HOW IT'S NOT LETTING ME BUY ON PATREON?!?!?!?!😪

Santino Eli

Yes!

Is everything okay?

AngeTheGreat

I want to go 😫

Right! When people think of two strokes they don't think about these cruelly obscure engines, Barkas B 1000 made 46hp and 76ft-lb. And my favorite, the Trabant 601, produced about 25hp and 39 ft-lb. Hearing and seeing these relatively long stroked restricted exhaust system 2-strokes would be fantastic!

Carl Linden

Yeah ! two stroke will be absolutely perfect to be implemented, love to hear those ones. I particulary affect the Vossloh Euro 4000 motor (EMD industrial motor, exists in 8, 12, 16 and 20 cylinders, 710ci/11.6 liters per cylinder, two stroke, mounted with 2 turbos in the E4000) at 750/800rpm, its incredible !

Lieven RYCKEBOER

This is simply the coolest thing! East German 2-stroke technology would be fascinating to test as they are very low revving and produce more torque than horsepower. But this is unnecessary, bottom of the list sorta deal.

Carl Linden

I've had the same questions in my head about BeamNG.drive and Automation, which are two games I love to death. The Automation engine sounds are comparable to ATG's but I think it could benefit from this software a lot. Would be cool to see all three building one big project taking the main focus from each and putting it into one game. BeamNG has its crash physics and world, Automation has its car and engine builders, and ATG's has realistic sounds and engines to the real world. Definitely a lot of potential for car sims in the future if this is where we want them to go.

larsloveslegos

Alright. I'm sending $500 this month towards this project IN HOPES to see you bring a version to macOS sooner than later. You're literally saving the day for car games out there and I couldn't be happier.

asimo3089

I'm so excited for the potential of this engine sim!

larsloveslegos

The fact that you aren't even recieving $1000 per month for this amazing work pisses me off

Inverted Blackhat

This is great! Would love to see such detail in sim-racing and other car games too.

I always thought about making my own version of this. I am a total car nut and I never was satisfied with engine noises ingame. Coming straight from your last YT video, my thoughts on this: -Have you considered the tone changes from Catalytic converters and mufflers? It may sound more realistic with them because people are used to having them on. Also the valve clicks are a nice touch but you don't hear it normally (maybe a disable setting?) -Have you looked at "Automation" (also simulates engine building and auto generates pretty accurate noise), it might be a direct opponent to your game with more content? (I don't want to say "don't build your game", I want you to have considered your playing field - if that makes sense to you) -have you considered exporting these sounds to games like automation and BeamNG? I love this project, I'm thrilled to see where this is going!

Björn

I think the simulator would definitely work great as an educational tool! Thanks for your contribution and I'm also excited about the direction of the project

AngeTheGreat

Love the simulator and the videos you have out on it. I think it's really interesting how well you were able to simulate the sound of these engines and i think it's an awesome feature to be able to tune the sound as well.As an automotive technician this simulator is really fascinating to me because working in a shop all day i get to mess around on cars but it's really neat to see a simulator that mimics real world data. I think this could be used to help teach people in class rooms about engine fundamentals and engine performance even. You have such a great start to this project, i'm really interested to see where it goes!

Carter Williams

Sorry about that, should be fixed now

Link has a '.' dot on the end. Just remove it

Wojciech Czop

Link does not work

ranger Nation

Love the simulator hope it expands into a real simulator of cars

ranger Nation

Right on, time to redline some simulated generators and feel like Im at work again!

Everett Butts

Thanks! I was not originally meant to be a game (at least the proof of concept wasn't) but since so many people started using it as a game, I figure it's a good description as well. Ultimately though, I want the final tool to be a sandbox style simulator that people can use for fun or professional synthesis if they want

AngeTheGreat

Amazing! I can't wait for the game's release, and great job on the game so far! (Is it a game or a tool, I don't really know)

BeaminYo

nice

You keep rocking in the free world champ
