[TOE] 3D Printed ZOOTROPE

Based on the same technique than the previous post, here is the file i used to create this small zootrope for my turntable, in Touchdesigner

When you deal with advanced 3d in Touchdesigner, you probably use geometry instancing a lot, like me. But, it has a major issue, WE CAN'T EXPORT INSTANCING as a standard 3D mesh, for further processing (like in Blender, Maya etc) or 3D printing for example.

I've finally found this capability in the CopySop, with the "Stamp" option. It's not difficult but not so much documented online neither. We have to deal with points attributes, and when everything is set up, it's working great,... and finally, we get the possibility to export the result as an *.obj

The main creation part is basic instancing, with TOPs, the prototyping is easy with great performance, then you can activate the copySop branch to export the exact same result on disk.

At the end of the file, there is a small tool to previz your result. A simple rotation of a static render should bring back the animation. MAGIC ^^

NB : If you decide to print your creation

To appreciate the object in person, you need two things :
- a rotating support. I use a standard turntable, but the fastest, the better. Mine does 78rpm (+20% pitch)
- a very fast stroboscope, and you may need precisely choose the flashes frequency. I experiment with zootropes for many years now, and I have a cheap but effective tachyometer , found online while ago.
