[WIP] - Cylindrical 270° projection
Added 2023-04-22 12:30:04 +0000 UTCI have to apologize guys, lately, I'm quite busy with a project for an upcoming event next May (more infos asap).
Right after finish this, I will be back on tracks for sharing files and tutorials.

Meanwhile, I can answer some artistic and/or technical questions about the making of this one, if you want :
The main things here are two pointclouds (a city, NYC, the one shared earlier this week, and a forest), partially revealed by a grid movements. Everythings start to collapse by feedback noises in 3D space (see my pointclouds tutorial).
The 270° image is obtain from a cubemap render, with appropriate projection and distorsion.
Several post effects are applied on top of that, glitches, RGB delay, pixelated effect..
Everything is realtime, drived by music and midi controller.
Sound is interesting too. It's a mix between looping soundtracks and sound effects generated by geometries and spacialised in 5.1. = the camera is "hearing" differents sounds depending on it's position. And all of that is made with TD, pretty cool.

If you have some suggestions or questions, let's talk here or on my Discord Server.
Happy programming everyone :)
I'll be back very soon.

You're right, 2 renders, one for the 270 visual displayed on the cylinder, and one for the previz (in fact, the reflection can be assimilated as a third, I composite separately). The pupil is a black growing sphere, who grows enough to mask the moon. The whole eye (iris) is a custom system, very near from the paketa12 technique shown in an old tutorial. For the pointclouds, I used to manage far more points for projects, but this one will need a very big output resolution so I tried to keep things simple. To add variety to them : 1. try to morph between two, with a switch top, or even partially with a matte top. 2. Add some noises into feedback loops (look at my pointclouds tutorial to get some insights) 3. build a particle system (with "life") in TOPs (I shared few projects files with similar process, EQ Smoke & CAR Infinite Journey). It can produce dusty pointclouds with nice movements.

2023-04-22 22:48:02 +0000 UTCAwesome work, too bad that Patreon compressed the hell out of clip. 1. Seems like there are 2 render TOPs running? One for cubemap and another for preViz? 2. How did you created black circle("pupil") in the end? 3. Oscillating between two static point clouds is a great idea. Have you ever played around animated sequences for example using OpenEXR? I am wondering how to create constantly changing point clouds or bring more variety to existing ones.
