(Update) Overwhelmed with School Work: What it means for Patreon

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well!

On my part, I will admit that I’m having a hard time focusing on my school projects and keeping up with two parts for MDWY each month so I’ve decided until this semester ends that I’ll only be doing 1 part of MDWY and one page of the NSFW Comic from this month (October) till the end of December. Then I should be able to make two parts as usual, but I might have to tone it to one afterwards (depending on the projects).

Thank you, and I hope it isn’t of any inconvenience. (I truly wanted to give two parts a month, but alas some projects require a lot of my time. And I don’t want to fail any classes haha.) Hope you’ll understand and have a nice evening!

Thank you! I wish I could draw more, but school is taking a lot of my time x_x

Believe me, I understand how you feel! It seems like, as the expectation for people to have some education beyond the mandatory public education has increased, the value of the education received at most colleges and universities has decreased. To give you an idea, when my son started college, his school was known as the #2 Engineering program in the state and the top one for many Engineering sub fields. As he attended, budget cuts and inability to keep quality professors led to him having many classes being taught by people who weren't really qualified to teach them and, on the math side, there was a constant struggle to not have required classes canceled due to low enrollment. He ended up finishing with a math minor because of that, even though he had decided he would rather pursue math than Engineering. And one of the classes he "failed" was because of an attendance requirement. He had been sick earlier in the term and missed a few days, then came home over a long weekend that coincided with Easter and was caught in an early spring snow storm on the way back to school and it wasn't safe to drive, so he stayed in a motel for the night and had to miss a day of classes. That put him over the attendance limit. He was 21 freaking years old at the time and had a B average in the class, but was listed as "Withdrawal Failing" on the transcript. There's no reason why adults should have attendance rules! If they can do the work, they can do it. Directed programs like the one you're taking sound more useful in a lot of ways compared to what has become of the modern university system.

Thank you. I know all too well the constant change of programs, failed classes and retaking haha. And of course, the money, but most importantly the time spent and lost forever. I honestly have mixed feelings with school or well more so with the formal education. I don't know whether this is for me, but there is at least one small program I'm aiming for which is focused on founding your indie game studio. Sometimes I just feel like I'm wasting my time in here, some classes need to be reworked... or well perhaps the whole system should be. In any case, I'm doing this and we'll see where it'll take me.

It wasn't necessarily because he failed them (at least not all of them) but he just got abysmal grades and wanted to improve them by retaking the classes and wiping the old grades off of his record. Didn't usually work well... Always better to get it done the first time.

School has to be the priority! Not only is a degree important and education valuable in and of itself, but the amount of money failed classes waste is tremendous! [My son was a double major in Engineering and Math... I know what I'm talking about. He had to retake a LOT of classes.]

Thank you! 😳 Always happy to hear about you Jackie!

No worries, school is more important! We'll be here!
