oh boy, this is going to be long. I'm a rheumatology patient. not a physician, but I have some medical knowledge. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis (sort of like a mixture of RA and psroriatic arthritis without the bulbous joints and skin patches). anyway, I've taken nearly half the medications listed in this podcast, save methotrexate (a chemotherapy drug). humira, cimzia, and enbrel are all immunosuppressant biologic drugs. they make you more susceptible to infection while taking them. in fact, they received an FDA black box warning for this reason. you can get cancer from these injections (has something to do with their action - idk I'm not a pharmacist), and taking multiple only increases that risk. AFAIK, there is no benefit to taking more than one of these medications at once. could be he was popping them full of methotrexate (whose therapeutic dose for RA should not make you go bald, but this isn't always the case) to stave off any cancer. a second thing is fibromyalgia is a diagnosis of exclusion. it should be the very last thing a rheum considers/diagnoses you with, not the very first. this is because while it has a defined criteria and symptoms, but there is no definitive test to prove a person has fibromyalgia. all other possible diagnoses must be ruled out. for this reason, I find it very odd that multiple people seeing this doctor had both RA and fibro. one other note on the immunosuppressant drugs. these drugs work. if you have an autoimmune disorder it's worth it to take them. I can't function without mine. they are too damn expensive, but they work. I'm trying to shame a bad doctor, not scare people in pain.

How sad for all of his victims.
