You’ve covered some pretty horrific stories of human suffering, but there’s just something deeply insidious about animal torture that hurts to the core. Things like this are why I’m both encouraged and terrified to enter the mental health profession; how can we make sense of this level of depravity? Take care of yourself friend 💙

Also was not expecting a shitpot little town like Prineville to get mentioned in any podcast I ever listened to. Had seen videos on YT covering 'monkey hate' videos, and ones about fake animal rescue channels, but the levels of depravity just under the surface is awful. One of the things sticking with me from this is how some of the perpetrators of this mentioned towards the end are mostly just ordinary people, I think after a season where a lot of the topics came from collective corporations or from systemic failures encouraged by greed, it's a harrowing reminder that it's not just faceless corporations who can partake in acts of absolute cruelty. As others have said, I hope you take some time to recover from the awful of this one.
