Artist-In-Residence and Art Reveal
Added 2024-12-27 00:11:57 +0000 UTCWe are pleased to announce that our search for an Issue 9 artist is at an end. And that we have created a new yearly position titled Artist-In-Residence.
For 2025 (Issues 9/10/11) this will be Ninja Jo, who is a freelance artist born in Ukraine. She works in digital and traditional materials such as watercolor, ink, and oil. She has more than twenty years of experience in traditional art and over ten years in digital. Subjects of her paintings are usually robots, different science fiction scenes, dark, or cyberpunk.
We will be working with her throughout the year on new pieces and working to utilize her art for our Issues and website. We are beyond excited to have her skills and to showcase her work to the world.
Issue 9 Cover
Please enjoy our cover image of Issue 9, uncropped and straight from the source. We feel it is the perfect embodiment of existence in January 2025 and the current state of the world.
Issue 9 Back Art
Below is the uncropped back art that will be on our digital and print editions of Issue 9. We're all exhausted after 2016-2020 and a pandemic and in need of a charge. Many of us still are charging. But there's not much battery power left in us or the instructions around us.
Comments
..and as I typed that, an AI interface kept popping up with "Help me write!" and I'm not even sure which tech company to complain about. Did it come from my browser or that stupid Microsoft thing I can't get rid of? Ugh. I turn these things off everywhere I can, in every way I can find, and it still comes at me with "Are you sure? Let me write that for you!" Out of charge, indeed.
