Issue 8 Cover Image + Updates

We're excited to bring you an exclusive preview of our back cover (left side) and front cover (right side) created by German artist Cornelius Dämmrich. The image is vibrant and alive in more ways than one and invites the eye to linger and uncover new details with each pass.

September 1st we plan to unveil the front cover with our logo to the world and begin our Issue 8 author reveal on September 9th leading up to launch on September 15th.

Print Issue

We still aim to release the print and digital versions at the same time. We have begun creating our book with IngramSpark and their global print + distribution network. We will have the ability to print and ship to anyone directly worldwide upon release. There are a number of fine details which we cannot know until we are further in the production process, and we will be meeting with IngramSpark employees for a one-on-one meeting soon. What we can share with you is our current understanding and plan for patrons:

Incoming Journal Help

Radon will soon be welcoming a slew of additional help. But they will not be typical all-purpose editors we've employed in the past. With the departure of some of our veteran editors who went to work on other passion projects, we realized that having each editor work on all parts of the journal left us vulnerable to the loss of institutional knowledge. We also realized that balancing reading submissions and editorial work and production was a tall order, especially while training new editors.

To this end, we put out a call for first readers who will focus on our submission queue. Please note, however, that existing Radon editors will not stop reading submissions and every submission will still receive multiple eyes before any decision is made. The editorial team will still meet to discuss promising submissions as we have been doing since we began. We are simply receiving help in the process.

As we continue to grow in our ambitions and scope, we are also bringing on two new specialized positions: Marketing Specialist and Digital Publishing Specialist. Until now, marketing has largely fallen on one or two editors who did their best to provide content alongside their existing editorial duties. As a DIY journal in the digital age that lives and dies on its online existence, we knew we needed dedicated support for tasks such as crafting individualized author spotlight graphics and interviews. Meanwhile, the digital specialist will help us with our most busy times of the year: production. Specifically, they'll assist with creation and dissemination of all the website and digital book files including interior and exterior book design.

In Closing

Our team is fully in the production swing. We truly stand behind each story and know you will fall in love with their worlds and passions as well. We should also note that this Issue uniquely has 100% original content. This was not by design or intention to exclude reprinted content, but simply how the issue turned out.

Stay close as we embark on our first print edition together and continue growing. Each of you reading this is a direct contributor to this journal's vitality, and we perpetually and humbly thank you for your support.
