it was between the refugee & dashcon. both stories stuck with me and were just kind of unbelievable. most of your stories are wild though so I guess that's not good basis 😆

The Tree Farm baffled me and I still think about, because I honestly wondered why they did it. The idiots, they didn't need to scam that guy, he would have given them the money willingly, all they had to do was pretend to care about him, which seems a lot easier than creating a complex scam. Some people I guess really have no moral compass.

I chose the Bookeeper because it was an interesting narrative. I find it notable that the current winners are the Bonus episodes that were re-released for non-Patreon supporters. If you remove those then the top results are Dashcon followed by Wycleff Jean.

I had to choose Boner because I think a grifter openly preying on that kind of toxic masculinity is important to talk about and it hit home for me. However, dashcon is a close second because I'm a nerdy millennial and that whole thing was a garbage fire and having a podcast affirm that it did indeed happen was a fucking trip.

I think after looking at this list my favourites are ones where company’s have defrauded individuals rather than when individuals have defrauded other individuals. It’s easy to write an individual off as a bad egg but when it’s a business it shows a more systemic problem with our society.
