So, maybe he kind of abandoned his mission to take over Earth and actually gained some humanity which is why he wrote those books in case he needed to fight back. But, I remember once Mark got his powers, he seemed disappointed, maybe bc he knew it was time to resume his mission by the killing the Gaurdians, which he maybe didn’t want to do, but felt pressured to. Maybe Omni Man was trying to convince himself of his own mission throughout season 1
