Gone, Baby, Gone: A Novel (Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro Book 4) by Dennis Lehane
Eddie gave me another book by this guy, and I liked the movie of this, so I started at the first book to get to this. Now, I think I’ll watch the movie again and see what they did with it (I don’t really remember). I doubt I will read the other two in this series. I’ve been doing comfort reading of detective things, and I guess that’s okay, but I want to get back to reading stuff that’s a bit more challenging. These are fine books, they are clever and interesting and breezy with lots of excitement, but I think I feel better when I read heavier stuff that makes me think. So, I’m going to try to lean back into those. But this is a surprising plot and nice atmosphere. I seem to love reading about Dorchester.

“The fuck you doing here if you don’t know where you’re going?” (An answer to someone asking direction in Dorchester).
Sacred: A Novel (Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro Book 3) by Dennis Lehane – 201227 – I have all these heavy booksI really want to read, but I get into the bathtub at the end of another Blursday, the one long day since March 13th, and I don’t even feel like poetry or stupid vegan shit, I just want to read detective stuff. It’s like I do my fake “work” during the day, and then I get sick of watching TV, and I want to watch another kind of TV, but I want to read it. I didn’t even highlight anything. I mean no disrespect to the book, it’s exactly what I want now. I started “Gone, Baby, Gone” (which is why I started reading these, I loved the movie), and I guess I’ll finish all 6, but it’s just because . . .well, because. It’s just good looking rich bad guys and elaborate double crosses and excitement.
