Announcement - Radious Lord Variety Submod is coming!

Hello Everyone, Team Radious here!

We have some very good news to share with you today! We have been working on a secret project for quite some time now, and we think that it is time to let it see the light of day. It has been requested quite a lot in the past and we feel like the moment is right to finally deliver it to you. Without any further ado, let us introduce the Radious Lord Variety Submod!

We decided to embark on the RLVS project following the unfortunate removal of one of our past submods. It is done entirely from scratch and introduces a greater variety to the game, giving players more freedom in choosing who is going to lead their armies into combat. Our ultimate goal is to have at least three general options for every faction, as well as provide them with spellcaster leader who can play a more supportive role. All our proposed generals have been researched and we have been consulting lore experts to ensure that they are as close to the lore as possible. Nevertheless, we welcome further suggestions and feedback regarding our choices if you wish to offer any, if it is constructive.

We have not agreed on a release date yet, but its probably going to happen sometime during November/December 2019. It is a complex submod and, as mentioned above, it will receive updates in the future bringing more content, but, for now, you can expect the following generals to be available on launch:

High Elves

Anointed of Asuryan

In both matters of martial and spiritual, the Phoenix Guard take their lead from their Anointed of Asuryan. These learned sages were once Phoenix Guards themselves, but over the centuries have chosen to immerse themselves in Asuryan's teachings. Much of their existence is spent within the Chamber of Days, learning the lessons of past and future. Only when destiny stands upon a tipping point will an Anointed of Asuryan leave the shrine, sent thither to bear witness on the Creator God's behalf, and bring hope to his mortal children. Where the Anointed tread, the doubts and fears of their allies vanish like mist on the wind. Blows that should prove fatal are turned aside at the last moment, enemy axes shatter on contact with shields and dark collapse inward at the moment of casting. (High Elves rulebook, 8th edition, page 50)

Archmage (Heaven, Light, Life, High)

At a High Mage's word, shimmering fields of magical energy spring into being to protect his allies, and the fires of courage blaze anew within their hearts. The truly gifted can even becalm the Winds of Magic themselves, collapsing a raging tempest until naught but a gentle breeze remains. Yet it should not be thought that High Magic is reserved for defensive means alone. With but a wave of his hand, a High Mage can call down the wrath of the heavens, paralyze his foes, or immolate whole regiments with Asuryan's fire. (High Elves rulebook, 8th edition, page 38)

Dark Elves;

Beastmaster

The Beastmasters of Clar Karond and Karon Kar can command even the unruliest beast to do their bidding. In part, this mastery springs from their unflinching dedication to the tormentor ́s craft, but brutality alone would be worthless without the Beastmaster ́s innate empathy. All Elves share a mystical attunement with the natural world, but while most embrace this bond to gain greater wisdom and fellowship with other living creatures, Dark Elves, and Beastmasters in particular employ it as another weapon in their arsenal of torment. It matters not whether the beast is a raging Manticore, a cunning Harpy or the wisest of Caledor's ancient Dragons: eventually, all submit to the Beastmaster's will, or perish under his lash. (Dark Elves rulebook, 8th edition, page 38)

Beastmen

Doombull

Doombulls are the strongest and most ferocious of their kind, towering bull-headed and cloven-hoofed beasts almost as broad as they are tall. Little more intelligent than their Minotaur kin, they are instead set above others of their kind by the sheer animal intensity of their hunger for flesh, and their inherent ability to invoke this intense bloodlust in others.

It is not only Minotaurs who heed the call of the bloodgreed, for sometimes the Beastmen themselves will be swept up in the rush of primal instinct to fight and to feed. As bands of Minotaurs crash through the trees towards the settlements and fortifications of the civilised races, so groups of Gars and other Beastmen follow in their wake, consumed by the desire to wolf down the hot flesh of their enemies. (Beastmen rulebook 7th edition, page 35)

Norsca

Fimir Noble

Once when all the world was fog-shrouded and dark, legend has it that these cyclopean fiends ravaged the Old World in mighty warbands, tearing down the cities of the High Elves and struggling in blood conflict with the wild men who dwelt in the lands that would millennia later become the Empire long before Sigmar arose there. (Monstrous Arcanum, page 60)

Shaman Warleader (Death, Beasts, Fire)

The most powerful shamans are the shaman lords. They have mastered spirit magic and kept their tribes strong. Tribal chiefs look to them for advice on nearly everything and they treated with something approaching awe. In some tribes, shaman lords become chiefs themselves. A few become powerful enough that they dominate several tribes and have many lesser shamans in their service. Like all powerful figures in the monstrous tribes, however, shaman lords must keep an eye on ambitious subordinates and make examples of those who dare to challenge them. (Old World Bestiary, Warhammer Fantasy RPG book, page 81)

Dwarves

Guildmaster

The Engineers Guild is one of the most secretive of all Dwarf institutions. Most of their inventions are practical: pumps to clear water from mine workings, engines to draw steel cages up vertical shafts and steam -powered drilling devices to penetrate the underworld. Since their beginning, the Engineers Guild has also developed machines for battle, war engines to wreak havoc upon their foes. Given the number of war machines with which the Dwarfs can equip themselves, it is not surprising to find members of the Engineers Guild accompanying a throng to battle. (Dwarfs rulebook, 8th edition, pages 27 and 35)
