The one thing I agree with Lalo about is that Saul is definitely like the cockroach, a born survivor. It's a pretty funny comparison that people should remember.

At this point in the run he stepped back a lot and Peter Gould + crew is running the show, but he said he had to return to direct this one. Classic BB desert vibes from the goat. Funny that Arianna clocked Jimmy using water to wash a bit of dirt off his shoe before knowing it was gonna be a desert adventure. Mike and Jimmy's reluctant friendship is so funny, and that it carries through to the BB period too. Love Lalo unknowingly referring to Kim as "Mrs Goodman" like ya, that's implicitly who you are now babe.

2025-03-04 21:43:54 +0000 UTC100%. Someone on Quora calculated that Saul made $12.5M just off the percentage cut of money-laundering he did for Walt, Jesse + Mike's successor operation during BB. Not counting legal fees or additional services. He defo learns his value through experiences like this.

2025-03-04 20:21:01 +0000 UTCThis episode really showed how much Jimmy undersells and undervalues himself as Saul Goodman. We saw him bump up his rate to $8k to initially help Lalo with crazy 8 and Lalo paid like it was nothing...and then this episode he asks for $100k to pick up his bail money and Lalo agrees to it easily. I bet if he knew the risks of what he was doing he'd ask for $500k minimum at least. It shows the transition from Jimmy McGill to Saul Goodman is slowly taking place, first his name and clientele significantly changed but now we see him learn to no longer deal in Jimmy McGill legal services rates but rather deal in Saul Goodman's legal rates which are other-worldly high given the danger it brings.
