Giving my few cents, Kim wanted to quit the plan because she felt Rich was onto something and by doing it like that Jimmy made them all see Kim being 200% against him and now all the doubt is destroyed. Which is genius.

My read on Kim's choice in this episode is that she still wants to have it all. She wants to have the passionate, dangerous love that she has with Jimmy while maintaining a sense of distance and safety from his actions and influence on her. She will take ALMOST any avenue she can that allows that.

"Fun" Fact: The actor playing Kevin's dad in that commercial is Jay Johnston who used to be on Odenkirk's HBO sketch show "Mr. Show with Bob and David". He was also on the "Sarah Silverman Program" and did the voice of Jimmy Pesto on "Bob's Burgers." And not long ago, he was arrested for storming the Capitol building on January 6th.... and yes, that last part's true. It's really weird. Not something you'd expect from a guy you would associate with people like David Cross, Bob Odenkirk, and Sarah Silverman...

Let's agree you haven't predicted how this is going to go :-)
You just hit the top of the roller coaster. Enjoy!

I don't mind the pauses, it helps say what you're thinking instead of waiting/forgetting at the end, yall had really good analysis

Chuck greatly benefits from the rewatch. At the time you don't know he dies at end of S3 + all the emotional fallout from that. Much easier to stomach Chuck at his worst knowing what happens.

I said it before, but... Jimmy/Saul, Just go into directing, man! That's what he loves! Even if it's just commercial directing, he his so happy and more motivated directing actors than he is practicing law.
Also, I've never seen the movie of The Little Prince (I think Gene Wilder is involved?) but I grew up on the book and the cartoon. Very wholesome stuff!

Kim and Jimmy are two of the best TV characters imo. The show is great and entertaining with Gus, Mike, Nacho, Lalo etc. .. but this dynamic elevates it to an all-time show for me.. oh and I was generally irritated by Chuck on the first watch.. he is definitely jealous and righteous but you can also start to have an understanding of his perspective on a re-watch while still knowing that he had a great hand in making Jimmy who he is as well.

I’m so jealous of people that are experiencing this run of episodes for the first time.

stopping in the middle of the show is soooo annoying.

Half way agree. Though I'd say it's more about sticking it to "the man" at this point in time (Kevin in this case). Jimmy doesn't really get a big payout out of scamming Mesa Verde like he would when he made a play to speed up the Sandpiper settlement with Irene.

I don't think it's about stopping Kim from being abused, that might be the excuse he might use to absolve himself, but its about the money for Jimmy.

Amazing ep, amazing reaction, amazing discussions. The pause was well worth it! 100% agree with everything. "Or we get married" gagged all of us for real, I didn't make the legal connection until I read comments. BCS is like my #2 all time show, higher than Breaking Bad even, mostly because of the writing. This scene sits on 5 seasons of development AND we know where Jimmy ends up too adding even more context, soooo good.
btw Arianna I love those colors on you! warm autumnal slay 🥰

God I live for your discussions when it comes to this show, they're always so damn good. Hats off to Maple for bullet pointing almost word for word exactly what Saul was going to do, lol.

I see Saul's directing career as being very Roger Corman

I've been saying this too! The man was born to be a scrappy Hollywood director/producer.

In another life Saul Goodman will go from directing films like Rocky to eventually Ocean's 11. And he'd have a dozen coca-cola and ubereats commercial directing credits under his belt
