I love how the opening for this one really cements Jimmy's motivation to be a lawyer as being for Kim.

Good ep! Good reaction! It's good to be back.
POV: you're comatose and your arch nemesis is telling you a horrible story about torturing animals 😑
mike lost all credibility for me when he refused to include a Nintendo Gamecube with Mario Kart Double Dash in the boys fun-time warehouse

Exactly! It cracks me up to think about how at this moment, the orchestrator of all this death and destruction is somewhere across town teaching about covalent bonds to unmotivated high schoolers.

The lab is a microcosm of Gus' decades (multiple?) long strategy to take down the cartel, and I 100% agree it makes you think.... wow, Walt really did buzz in, wreck everyone's shit in record time then peace out.

At this stage of Better Call Saul, I love seeing how it re-contextualizes things we've seen happen on Breaking Bad. For example, all this time they're devoting to how the superlab under the laundromat was built is great because you already see how much care, time, and effort was put into this monumental project, just for Walt to literally burn it all down in a few years! Likewise, Gus's grand revenge scheme against Hector will also be complicated by Walt's intervention.

Also, I love this Gus/Hector scene this episode. Slowly revealing more and more just how psycho this man can be when he feels personally wronged. Torturing an animal for days for taking fruit off your tree as a 7 year old child is wild. It's pretty much the only driving force Gus has. He doesn't seem to do much with his money except use it to make more, he's all about the feeling of having power over people, so he is never in a position like he was with the Coati or with Max by the pool, ever again.
