As I said before, the breakdown is very enjoyable. Love to see how your mind works. It's well, I understand silence can be awkward. It's just , not always a bad thing. True it can be things are stale. It can also be true that silence can be comfortable. Silence can also mean there is malice present.....that is the worst. I hope that despite I think you are harboring the notion of staleness....there can be possible something positive? Like it's good to find that out to make goodbye easier? Feeling a stale or awkward silence, I'm ready to say goodbye. If someone doesn't want to share in your joy, love.....then good riddance. They aren't worth losing your peace. Keep your peace, joy, love, and be happy that their dead weight is off your shoulders....so to speak. It's taken me a long time to be in that space. It's pure freedom. That's why I emphasize to love you as you are, not what others want you to be. It's not easy to be that brave, but it's very liberating.

2024-11-10 00:29:52 +0000 UTCNow that I finally have time to get to this vid, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I always like going 'behind the scenes' in things that I wouldn't normally encounter, so this was a fun and educational little interlude 😊

2024-10-30 23:01:02 +0000 UTCYou sound awesome and I'm loving the song, even though the lyrics are emotionally painful to me since I have been on the other side of that type of a situation. I'm really sorry u had to go through that. It's not fair and even though there many times is certain reasons why people don't bring up issues and situations might make it sometimes even feel almost impossible... It's still not ok. That part of the lyrics about the other person sounding happier on the phone with friends hit so hard, 'cos I heard my ex on the phone with his friends and colleagues and he was almost like a totally different person... And yeah, it breaks your heart. Unfortunately sometimes relationships turn out to be karmic lessons for both sides. I definitely learned my painful lesson. It's sometimes difficult to know where to draw the line of trying to give a love chance and not giving up too soon and when it's time to stop trying... It's so true that getting to know someone is exciting, I guess the key is to keep things interesting and not starting to take the other person for granted and assume that there's nothing more to learn about the person. Both need to choose to love the other person and ask questions and communicate and want to do stuff together to create bonding memories. To me it's really interesting to see what all goes into making a song. I don't understand all the technical stuff, but u did a great job explaining things. I especially liked the breaking down the lyrics part, it's always super fascinating when artists explain the story behind the lyrics. Nice that u make use of that cool guitar of yours. I wish I get to go to your/your band's concert someday! I hope u have a nice time in Nashville 🙂

2024-10-30 17:03:03 +0000 UTCWeaving your own experiences into songs that transcends to others' experiences is a beautiful gift. A lot of your songs helps people see their feelings are normal and common in different situations and context. Giving big virtual hugs to you coz you're being thoughtful to others. 😊 I'm looking forward to the time you're performing your songs and your bandmates' songs live with some acoustic segments. I will love to see the audience singing along to the lyrics. That will be so cool and surreal. I really don't mind listening/watching through technical aspects. A lot of us are pretty much receptive to ideas or different forms of presentation. Like what Cas has mentioned, I subconsciously remember bits and pieces and somewhat able to understand a little more. Prolly that's what makes me appreciate songs better unlike in the past, I'd mostly hear sounds and words. Thank you for being patient to explain and to show us, Joel~~💜

2024-10-30 15:41:19 +0000 UTCThanks for enlightening, now I know it’s soothe that puts a cellophane in some singers’ mouths. And for inspiring to listen to one old song I like. Ozone made my brain sing: “Ma-ia-hii, ma-ia-huu…” “Too late…” part is my favorite! And I don't know why, but something's broken down inside me at some point, and now it tears my soul badly, when I hear a new sad song by Roomie. Hope you're okay, or will be okay soon🙏

2024-10-30 14:53:50 +0000 UTC100%! Honestly, it’s not even specific to music- it’s just always nice to hear people talk about things they love & are passionate about! And like you said, you learn a thing or two as well :D

2024-10-30 14:51:48 +0000 UTCNate is on Twitch?! Is “BaasikMusic” his screen name?!

2024-10-30 14:28:24 +0000 UTCI immediately thought about his older song as well. 😁 And I also agree with you, I enjoy watching and listening to Joel when he’s in his element, gets super nerdy. It means that I get to learn something. I could watch and listen to him talk for hours about his creative process, etc.

2024-10-30 14:18:48 +0000 UTCI am a music dummy so really appreciate these breakdowns. Until you (and once Jonas and August too) started doing this I didn't realize all the details and intricacies in making a song. I learn a bit more each time and sometimes can even hear the difference :D. I even watched Nate Brown do a breakdown and Twitch and understood some of what he was doing as he explained it. Good song and yes, more please!

2024-10-30 13:35:58 +0000 UTCOh this gave me goosebumps and all the feels. ❤️ Also liked the breaking down - it is interesting to see how the way to the final version is. Love also the use of your guitar - its kind of simple but the lyrics combined with the music have a huge impact - cant wait to get a full version of that song.

2024-10-30 11:00:55 +0000 UTCWhen I first saw the title I thought we were going back down memory lane to that OTHER song you made that was also titled ‘Too Late’ all those years back 😂 Thanks for this video Joel! Please don’t be afraid to get really nerdy in these. I think most of us are interested, or at least, would be willing to listen to you talk about pretty much anything lol

2024-10-30 08:35:58 +0000 UTCTo me this sounds reminiscent of "Long Distance Love", and now I'm sad bc "Too Late" could easily be its sad, more mature sequel, where the couple got to be together in person after a long time apart. It seems like they were more into each other when they couldn't be together. Maybe the mundaneness of everyday life killed the limerence. And now I want a short-film about that dying love and how some people forget to do the work to keep the love alive... Ugly animated version will do, thanks💔 Like, imagine pining for each other, perhaps doing long distance for some YEARS, and then actually getting bored or fed up with each other within a year of living together. I would ugly cry. Especially if it's just one of them that's "growing out" of the relationship and the other one didn't see it coming at all😭

2024-10-30 07:43:49 +0000 UTCYes, I really enjoy when you breakdown the songs and explain the lyrics. 🙂 The “too late” part of the song is definitely the highlight!!

2024-10-30 07:10:52 +0000 UTCThe chords are so pretty! Very cool seeing you play more guitar too. Your vocals sound like Shawn Mendez here 😅🔥🔥

2024-10-30 06:24:42 +0000 UTCI’m being honest…to me, your singing voice is a beautiful instrument. _Not even_ “A Little Bit Pitchy”!! I’d love to hear more of your untuned vocals. 😁🙏🏻

2024-10-30 05:44:33 +0000 UTCLove your voice and breakdown of the lyrics. Well written and relatable. I think it's called the "honeymoon phase" when things seem exciting at the beginning, but after a while it may not seem as exciting after getting to know each other. The lyrics font at the end should be bigger though, hard to read lol. Appreciate you Joel💖❤💖❤

2024-10-30 05:31:35 +0000 UTCLiked this explanation. To get in your thought process, thank you. The distortion , if I can say, helps the tone of the song. Another dimension, subtle, but is nice. Enjoy listening to you, thank you.✌️❤️😂

2024-10-30 04:57:43 +0000 UTCAlso, I like seeing you get “music nerdy”. And yes, when you turned off the auto tune, you still sound great.

2024-10-30 04:44:07 +0000 UTCYou sound great in this song, so far, Joel. 😁😁 It’s nice to see you playing your new guitar.
