For happier songs or more upbeat ones- singing more directly to the camera would be lovely :)- Like in “long distance love” because your eyes and smile are soo nice 🙌🏻 😄😍, or your “don’t stop now” cover had a fun energy with the camera. Actually, there’s an idea- green screen-might be helpful and make the tiktok’s feel different, cuz ya did fun transitions and aesthetics with the spotify cover song video- maybe that could work for short clips of original songs too? Whatever vibe or look you choose for the short clips-the music is good, so the look of the clip is just bonus to add to it!

It goes to show your creativity as a songwriter. I agree with the others maybe a handheld mic or playing piano/instrument would bring more of a connection to the audience and be as if this is the first time you’ve sung the song and it’s not so overproduced and thought out

I really like all your songs because of how relatable the words and experiences are to me and anyone else. Please do what you feel is comfortable at the moment while singing because I felt like if you're trying hard to behave a certain manner, your body language will come off as being unnatural and too stagey. Agree with others it's alright to feel and look awkward. Just keep practising with us until you figure out what works for you~~💜

In my opinion it looks like you’re trying too much to be like “all the others”. Lean in to the awkward, lean into the romantic and deep side, be super silly and all over the place. In the past videos you’ve been stiff, or super square, this probably sounds weird in English but you get the point. Try to take a step out of the square 😅 hope it doesn’t offend you

I've been listening to your demo "Leave" a lot this month and everytime it shuffled on I'd be like Gosh, Joel wrote some sad songs. Hope it is as therapeutic to you as it is to us (or even more) ❤️ Anyway, the setup is nice (the same as in your recent yt vids?) I like it a lot. As for your postures and stuff I'll let you figure out what works / feels comfortable for you cuz oddly I don't feel that this one is as awkward as the first one 😅

Commit to the bit, try not to blink or flinch, give intense creepy eye-contact with the camera while singing this romantic snippet. Make it weird!👌🏼😄

This reminds me of small venues when I go to support new musicians, and how awkward it can be when you lock eyes due to proximity. With this side-on intimate approach it breaks the third wall. I do love these samples, and I still prefer the darker room you showed us yesterday. PS: please feel free to ignore me.
