Sierra Chest 2 launches!

Greetings Patrons!

It has been a bit since my latest update, but there's a very good reason for that. Finally, after years of talk and promises, I had enough of delaying, sat down behind the computer, started coding like a madman, and haven't stopped for nearly three weeks now. The result? Sierra Chest 2 is close to completion! You can already check it out - it's at exactly the same place where the old Sierra Chest was (www.sierrachest.com), except it looks "slightly" different (see image).

Gone are the flashy colors, the ugly menu, the oversized banner, the tiny fonts, the wooden beams and more. The menu has been upgraded to a horizontal menu with drop-downs to easily access every corner of the site, and is always within instant reach. Game pages and developer have an additional menu on the side to access the sub-pages, replacing the hideous icon bar which used to be there.  Though still in progress, I'm also designing it in a way that it can be used on tablets and smart phones, with collapsing menus and content adjusting itself to the screen resolution.

The best however is yet to come. When all site pages have been upgraded (there's only a few left to go), I'll start programming the brand new member registration, meaning all membership features will kick in and you, Patrons, will finally receive the full benefits for supporting my project! You'll be able to compile your own virtual collection, be listed as Patron along with a Patron badge by your user name, have access to the VIP section of the forum, have no ads displayed, can vote for which games you want me to complete next, and more! Members will also be able to comment and rate comments on news stories, upload box scans, write and rate reviews, create music lists, and more! The Sierra Chest will no longer be 'just' a massive museum of all things Sierra, it will also be a place for the community to gather and have fun.

On a final note, I did also work on a few game pages and have completed not one but two of them. The first is Contract J.A.C.K., a first-person shooter from the No One Lives Forever series, and the first game of Monolith that is covered in the Chest. In addition to the No One Lives Forever series, Monolith is also well-known for its F.E.A.R. franchise and Aliens vs Predator games.

The other game I completed is a classic: Ecoquest 2: Lost Secret of the Rainforest.

That's it for now. I will now further program the last couple of pages of Sierra Chest 2 and then proceed with the membership features. As always, thank you for your continued support. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please let me know. I welcome your opinions at all times.
